In a different room from Albert's, his mother hunched over the table while writing on a parchment. Her writing was surprisingly clean and neat compared to the fact that most of the population, in fact even most of the nobles couldn't write. And usually left the writing and reading to the scribble.
"...waiting for your reply. Sincerely: your beloved daughter and the Queen of the Andola kingdom Gisela Ulrich Burg."
*Mmmm*
After the Queen finished writing, she put down the quill into the holder and stretched her body.
*Yawn*
"Was this the last letter I had to write?"
While trying to hide her unladylike yawning.
"Yes, my lady, your father the Duke and your mother the Duchess were the last."
Said the old nursemaid, who helped Albert be born.
"Finally it's over! I didn't have to write this much a long time ago!"
Said the Queen while massaging her hand which was sore and red from the writing.
Because she was serving the Queen since she was just a baby the old nursemaid was already prepared. And brought a bowl of cold water. In which the Queen dipped her and its pain immediately started to ease.
"Ahhh, so much better!"
While her lady was soaking her hand, the old nursemaid hesitated but finally asked.
"But my lady why do you have to cause yourself pain? You don't have to write the letters by yourself a scribble would do it for you!"
The old nursemaid didn't understand, why her lady had to work three days straight.
"I am thankful for your concern Honora however this event is important for Al. So I wanted to do everything personally!"
Said the young Queen with a tired but happy smile. She wanted to do everything to make the event successful.
"Talking about Al, where is he? I want to play with him and I have to tell him about the event!"
She was excited because of the preparations she had to work a lot so she had no time to play with her beloved child.
"Hmm, my lady now that you asked, a few hours ago I ran into Bella. And she said when she was with the young master, he suddenly became really excited and asked her to find sticks and yarn!"
"Hmm, why does he need yarn and sticks?"
The Queen looked at her with a confused face.
"I don't know my lady, maybe he wants to play with them?"
"Maybe..."
But both of them didn't really believe that the Prince just playing with them. Because everyone knows in the castle that the baby prince is super intelligent and usually never plays with toys.
"Whatever, we just have to ask Al ourselves!"
The Queen stood up and started to walk out of the room.
"Yes my lady!"
Said the nursemaid while opening the door for the Queen.
"And please prepare a tee for us!"
-x-X-x-
*Pat-pat*
The Queen stood in front of Albert's door and adjusted her clothes.
'He couldn't have forgotten about me in a few days right?!'
She thought and opened wide the door. And spread out her hand preparing for the impact of a running child and then a tight hug.
*Huss*
But sadly the reality is always cold and instead of a running child, she got hit by the cold wind.
*Bam*
She collapsed on the floor and started to doubt her life choices.
After a few moments, she mustered her strength and stood up, and looked around in the room.
It wasn't hard to find the little prince who was currently in a deep conversation with his maid.
'What are they doing?'
Thought the Queen and decided to take a little revenge for ignoring her.
So she sneaked behind her son and suddenly touched her son's shoulder and greeted him.
"Hello Al, did you forget about your mother?"
"Whaaa!"
Her son's reaction was priceless! He almost jumped out of his chair in fright. But when he saw his mother she run to her and hugged her tightly which Gisella (The Queen) received happily.
"Mother! What are you doing here?!"
"Oh, perhaps Bella charmed you so much that you don't even want to see your own mother?"
"My Queen I could never!"
Before Arthur could say something Bella instantly denied it.
"No, mother I just thought you were working!"
"Fufufu, I am just joking I am already done with the work for now and I have something to tell you..."
*Knock, knock*
But before she could complete her sentence, somebody knocked on the door.
"Come in!"
"My lady, I brought the tea."
The door was opened by the old maid who brought a tray with tea on it.
"Oh, hello Honora!"
"Greetings young master Albert!"
Gisela smiled after seeing the pleasant atmosphere between the two. Because when Albert was younger he was a little hostile against the older woman. But with a little bit of honey, they reconciled.
"Please help me, Bella!"
"Yes of course."
The two maids started to set the table while the Prince and the Queen sat facing each other and started sipping the freshly brewed tea.
"Oh, this is an excellently brewed tea!"
Praised Albert while greedily slurping his tea.
"Thank you for your praise young master!"
After a few minutes, both Albert and Gisela drank their tea and started to eat the sweets.
"By the way, mother did you want to tell me something?"
"Oh, I forgot!"
She ate the rest of the sweets and wiped her mouth before talking. Making a tense atmosphere.
'What could have happened?!'
*Khm*
The Queen coughed and opened her mouth.
"There is going to be a banquet on your first birthday"
*Cirip, cirip*
"That's all?!"
"What 'that's all' it's going to be one of the biggest banquet and you can even meet with your grandparents!"
"Really?!"
Albert's resentment because of the previous dramatic pause instantly went away. Because he always wanted to meet with his grandparents but they were always busy.
"Of course, they are going to be there, why would I lie to you?!"
"That's cool!"
Seeing that her son was so happy, Gisela couldn't help but giggle a little.
"Now that I remember, what were you doing when I came in?"
Alber thought a little and said.
"Oh, I was teaching Bella knitting!"
"What is knitting?"
Asked back a little confused.
"Wait it's better if I show it to you."
He said and run back to the couch and grabbed sticks with strange fabric on them. He came back to his mother and gave it to her.
"Knitting is basically creating loops of yarn in a row making a textile."
Gisella touched this weird Textil and thought.
'It's light and fluffy!'
"It's light, warm, fluffy, fashionable, and most importantly cheap because it's made of yarn!"
Albert started to list the benefits of this new method of making clothes.
"And where did you learn it?"
Asked the Queen with a surprised voice.
"Uh, oh I invented it..."
Answer the prince while clearly panicking.
"Oh, my son is a genius!"
Shouted Gisella and hugged Albert tightly!
*Phew*
'Mother didn't ask more!'
"Mother you are crushing me!"
He said while trying to crawl out of his mother's crushing hug.
"Oh sorry!"
*Huff*
*Huff*
She released the prince who almost got suffocated by two big breasts.
"And what are you planning to do with it?"
"Hmm, I don't really know I just wanted to make winter clothes for Bella and her family."
Gisella tilted her head and started to think and a few minutes later decided.
"Teach me too how to knit!"
"What?!"
"Teach me! I have enough free time anyway and I always wanted to make my own clothes!"
Albert thought for a moment. And decided that it is less boring with his mother.
"Okay, I could teach you. When do we start?"
"Yay, let's start immediately!"
"Okay let's start with the yarn and then..."
And while Albert started to teach his mother and Bella knitting, the time started to slowly flow. Days, weeks later months passed until finally three months passed and Albert became 1 year old. And today was the day of the big banket.
