Kapitel 69: Nervous Noah

Karl stood like a pole while she kept hugging and complaining to him. Even though she had made a mistake, he could still remain angry with her.

Just the thought of her getting hurt made his heart clench in pain. What would have happened if that car had hit her? No... he didn't want to think.

He was so scared even to imagine that he didn't realize when his hand wrapped around her shoulder and he found himself hugging her back.

People who saw then thought Karl was consoling her but little did they know it was him who was calmed by her.

Caressing her back, he felt her relax in his embrace. 

Gwen pulled back and wiped her leftover tears, and looked at Karl in guilt. She knew how childish her act was earlier, and it would have cost her life if he didn't save her the correct time.

"Are you okay?" she heard him say, raising her eyes to look at his concerned-filled eyes.
