Vice smacked his lips together. "Well, that's fucked up." He patted Ivo's thigh. "Sorry about that."

Ivo peeled his fingers off his leg with a glare.

"So whoever sent you the comm knows it was me inside that box?" 

Vital shrugged. "They knew that I would recognise your face at the very least. I could barely believe my eyes when I saw the security footage on the holos."

His dark gaze met Ivo's. "I'm not going to apologise for the way I spoke with you when I ambushed you guys at your place. Saying those words hurt me more than it hurt you, believe me."

He turned the glass of vodka around between his fingers, contemplating taking another sip but ultimately forgoing it. "Like I said, Ivan's father liked to humiliate him. He could spend hours calling him and his mother whores, sometimes he called him the whoreson. Depending on his mood. He wasn't a very creative man.
