Liam could not wait for the hunt to be over. He lost the thrill and excitement of the game after seeing his father, who usually did not join this activity. He never liked killing for sport, his father would say. 

But truthfully, his father did not want to be in the same space as his grandfather. Maybe that was one thing they had in similarity. They never liked their fathers, but he was sure for a different reason. 

"It seems congratulations are in order." Another one of the people he usually did not see on this trip. "I heard your mother is throwing an engagement party since you never had one."

"I assume my mother extended the invitation to you." He was not asking but stating a fact. 

As he had expected, the news had already spread, not about his engagement but his mother's plans. She would not waste time. He believed her mother intended to discredit Luisa tomorrow night. 

Afterward, she could proceed with her other plans.
