Geoffrey clenched his jaw, "Serena is still my wife."

Leonard felt embarrassed, but some words still needed to be spoken. "I know, and I am also her brother. Even so, I know that what she committed was so grave that even I feel ashamed to stand before you. However, we both know that you're the only person capable of saving her from this predicament, and I, my whole family, shall never forget your kindness."

Geoffrey shook his head. "I have no need for your gratitude as this is between Serena and me. However, I only have one question for you. Have you been aware of what was happening behind my back before it came to this?"
