There was panic, there was chaos. Screams came from everyone, and the birdwatcher even carried Dylan away from the water. He brought the child to the father, who was also swarmed by the three other kids. Since the humans were busy salvaging themselves, Dylan didn't hold back and deconstructed everything they had. He even stuffed them inside the car that moved away on its own.

Darius carried Dylan away, Adrian holding onto Megan and Vivienne. They ran to a different side than the humans, but some of them still strayed close as if making sure that the four children would be safe. With a monster rising from the water, they could only retreat to watch from a distance.

It's just that Darius could see how Nicholai stood in front of the lake, staring down the appendage that wriggled stronger than earlier. The long body slid as more of it surfaced from the water, and it looked like it was going to run amok in the very next second.
