The next day, Xu Anyi came down the stairs after taking a shower. Si Mu had also taken a shower after their run together, and he was seated at the table, quickly eating breakfast already.
"Are you going to the company later?" Xu Anyi asked as she sat down.
Si Mu nodded, putting down the phone he was just holding.
Xu Anyi picked up her spoon but thought for a few seconds, and then looked up again, "Can I come with you?"
Si Mu looked up, surprised at her sudden request.
"I have nothing to do today. . . Plus, you are the King of the business world," Xu Anyi said with a smile filled with admiration, "Wouldn't it be a waste if I didn't learn some business skills from the King himself?"
Obviously, the compliments from her worked well on him, and although he knew she was just flattering him, he still couldn't help but smile with joy as he nodded, "Sure."
Xu Anyi's eyes lit up as she quickly began to gulp down her breakfast, not wanting to make him late.
About half an hour later, they had arrived in front of one of the largest buildings in the area. With 31 floors, the structure towered over all the other buildings around it, a visual simple of their power and dominance.
The car stopped right in front of the large glass front door, and as Xu Anyi looked out to see workers running in and out of the building, she did not get out of the car right away.
"Why don't you get off first?" She said when Si Mu looked over at her in confusion.
He raised an eyebrow, questioning her.
"I'm assuming that you usually enter the company alone, and no one knows about our relationship yet. Rumors would spread if your workers saw you walking in with me." She didn't know if he wanted others to know about their relationship yet, and even though he was the President, the Si Corporation was definitely a sensitive place.
Si Mu looked at her and then turned around, getting out of the car.
Although Xu Anyi knew that she was the one who had brought it up, she still couldn't help but feel a hint of disappointment when she saw him getting out of the car.
She turned around and looked ahead, speaking to the driver, "Can you drop me off in the parking lot?"
However, the driver did not move, and just as Xu Anyi wondered why he did not start the car, the back car door next to her was suddenly pulled open from the outside.
She turned her head around and looked up at the figure which blocked the sunlight from entering the car.
Si Mu bent down slightly as he reached an arm out, holding his hand out for her, "Come out."
Xu Anyi's mouth fell open slightly in surprise as she looked into his eyes in astonishment. Seeing that she was not moving, Si Mu sighed as he turned his hand around and bent down even further, grabbing onto her hand as he pulled her out of the car.
Just like that, Xu Anyi stumbled out of the car and broke out of her daze when she heard the car door shut behind her.
"Si Mu," she called.
"I don't care about the rumors," he broke her off immediately as he began walking into the building, taking her with him by his side, "Plus, who would dare to speak any rumors about me?"
His voice was cold yet confident, and the certainty in his tone made Xu Anyi willingly choose to believe him as a smile swept over her face and she followed him into the building.
As they walked in, many workers looked their way and gasped in confusion and shock.
"Is- Is that President Si?"
"Yes, that's obviously him! But who is that woman next to him?!"
"She's so pretty. . ."
"Does that matter?! Why is she walking next to President Si? And why are they holding hands?!!"
"Who knows? Maybe it's his friend. . ."
"Friend?" The worker scoffed, "President Si has never brought a woman to the company before. I'll eat my shoe if she is his friend!"
Xu Anyi heard the chatter coming from the sides and she straightened her back slightly as she walked faster, quickly following Si Mu into the last elevator to the side.
The elevator door opened and he walked in with her, clicking the button with the number '31' on it.
Once the door closed, Xu Anyi glanced up at Si Mu with a barely noticeable smile, "I wonder who was the one that said his workers would never dare to speak any rumors about him?"
Si Mu turned his head slightly and looked down at her, raising an eyebrow at her taunting, "But I like these rumors."
The elevator quickly flew up to the 31st floor and there was a ding before the door slowly slid open, arriving on the top floors.
Once they entered, there was a large space with several long desks, and many workers rushed around, already working busily although it was early in the morning.
The elevator opened up into an empty walkway that was positioned right in the middle of all the desks, and it led straight to a large staircase that led up to a second floor, which had a private room and a large glass meeting room to the other side.
Si Mu did not let go of her hand in the elevator, and when they arrived, he walked down the hallway again, holding onto her hand.
"Good morning, Pres-" the workers began to greet him when they saw him, but when their eyes landed on the second figure walking next to him, they paused.
All the rustling of the papers and the chattering slowly died down as everyone turned to look at their boss. Xu Anyi gulped as she looked around, smiling and nodding her head awkwardly at everyone as she walked past their astonished expressions.
Si Mu did not care at all as he walked straight ahead with his usual cold expression, going up the stairs and unlocking the door to his office.
Even after his office door shut, all the workers gaped at the empty hallway in shock.
Finally, one worker spoke in the silence:
"Who. . . was. . . that?!"
