The smoky whiteness swallowed everything inside the inner chamber. It poured out of the opening on top, and gradually filled the entire cave. The spiderlings that tried to rush in were smothered by the gas. Since its main component was hexachloroethane, it proved to be extremely toxic to the little fledglings. The tiny flying spiders dropped to the ground like dead flies.
Fortunately, Kelly was still wearing her gas mask, which prevented her from being suffocated inside the smoke. The mask kept purifying the air to allow her to breathe clean air. She only had to replace the filter to keep the mask functioning at maximum efficiency.

Ashdenroth Brown Locust Spiders: These spiders are hybrids which exhibit the characteristics of both locusts as well as spiders. Unlike normal spiders, they do not have ten legs. The males are usually more aggressive, but smaller in size than the females.
The young ones of this species have two pairs of wings, and are capable of flight. They usually rest inside burrows on the ground, characterized by golf-ball sized openings. They are highly venomous and prefer to attack in swarms.
The adults of the species lose their wings as they mature. However, their bodies grow exponentially when they are ready to mate. They also develop a more potent venom and prefer to live in pairs to avoid territorial disputes.
