A/N: I've just thought of a really interesting way to have some fun with the science and the ways people deal with certain people and how they view this group of people. I took inspiration from Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Man I can't wait to make that happen, it's kinda gonna be a bit mean and probably undeserved but hey, it'll be interesting. Anyways, exams are done for the now and imma be uploading again!
Valier POV:
The entrance exam, it would be annoying, but I could do it. My current goal was to seem average or a bit above average as a whole. That didn't mean I had to be shit at everything or that I needed to be completely useless. I just couldn't excel at anything, but I could have things I did better in.
I was at the front gates of the school, and it was fucking huge. It was probably among the biggest structures I had ever seen, it was an architectural marvel.
I watched as thousands entered the building, being directed to one hall or another. First came the written test. We were all given the same test, and the test had a variety of subjects in it. The test had questions that were taken from a variety of subjects. This wasn't the only form of exam of course, applicants could choose what tests they wished to take. You had to take two tests, one of them was the written exam. The other could be on combat, agriculture, and things more laboratory based and experimental in nature. There were more, but I didn't see much value in memorizing them all. The point was that the school had an extremely wide variety of subjects.
The test was easy enough for me. Well, to be fair, in subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and psychology, I was probably on par with university students. But even then, my information retention was partially due to certain cerebral implants, but even without them, I was still smarter than most. It was just more convenient to send me the layout of the land via a transplant rather than have me memorize it and accidentally forget something. I would probably be way better at the aforementioned subjects if my education wasn't cut short.
The reason my education was so important was because my fighting style revolved around my intelligence and ability to 'calculate' what my enemy would do next and what the best move was, where to strike to do the most damage, etc.
This was way easier now that I could see their muscles. Due to my expertise on the human body and its anatomy, I could properly predict most attacks with my eyes. Of course, my previous fighting style involved Corruption, but that power was more of a last resort. The first time I used it, an entire nation was simply erased from existence.
I wasn't originally made to fight though, I was taught those subjects because I was originally made to lead the country into a new era. The Paragon Project was made by a group of scientists. Their methods were questionable from a moral perspective, but effective.
I mean, they produced multiple 'Paragons', and each of us could easily reach top levels in any profession. We could've been doctors, engineers, civil servants, and whatnot, but when the country began their conquest and the Paragon project was leaked, quite a few of us were conscripted into the war.
You see, the girl who killed me was an ex Paragon herself. Though I don't remember what she could do, or her specific specialities. Each Paragon had one combat related ability they excelled in, well, aside from me. I excelled in every aspect of combat, however, until recently, I hadn't been able to use my sword like before. My sword skills had dulled when I initially entered this world and they were still not at their best.
But anyways, I excelled in all aspects of combat, the only thing I lacked was a larger Aura capacity. Of course, my Corruption Attribute made up for that, but its true power had never been unlocked though. Although, there was a time when I was able to use it to its fullest.
Back when I was more normal, and when my mentor died... I think that's when I changed.
But it was fine, I needed to keep moving forward, I refused to allow the past to bind me. What I needed to do now wsd score a B on this test, perhaps around 60% would be fine.
Anyways, the questions in this entrance exam were truly perfect. Not so difficult that kids would be genuinely stumped regardless of their intelligence, nor would they find it absurdly easy irrespective of their intelligence.

Anyways, once I finished the written exam, I was led to the combat test. Here there wasn't anything like some sort of Mana stone/orb thing to say "You're an S rank" or anything, you could tell how large someone's Mana Capacity was if they didn't try to hide it and if you looked for it. It was the same with strength, people tended to exert a pressure just by living, with the same happening with Mana. So long as you're alive, you would release a minute pressure that could be amplified if you were mage, or a combatant in general really.
Anyways, I'd have to only use my Magic, my Weapon Creation, and my physical power. When using Magic, I wouldn't use Fusion or Derivative Magic, although, if needed, I was willing to use my Derivative Magic, but Fusion Magic was something I'd rather use later.
We were lead to an auditorium and assigned seats, as I tried my best to remember what the combat exam was, a young lady sat down beside me. She had jet black hair and deep black eyes, she had no Mana in her body by the looks of it. But that was fine, Babbylon wasn't merely a place for just Mages. It was a place for those with talent, those with drive, and those with both and more.
There were several things the school could do, they taught fighters, scientists, doctors, and the like. Fighters weren't the only talented people in this world after all.
After everyone sat down in their allocated seat, a lady walked onto the stage. She was pretty damn tall for a woman, probably around around 6'0 (182.88 cm) I knew who she was, she was the principal of this Academy. She was a Rune Bearer and a monstrous mage, and on top of that, she was a Demon Blood. Of course, her bloodline was a secret to all but me.
A/N: I've started to take notice that absolutely nobody can picture height in cm so I'll just use feet since there's no point in using a metric my audience can't picture.
A/N: I take it back, someone can picture shit in cm.
Her Rune was the Rune of Oda Nobunaga. The fact that she had a Rune was known, but its ability or name was not, publically at least. The public didn't even know what it was called either. In the original Novel, it was said that it had a powerful ability, but she died due to reasons that weren't really well explained.
Anyways, what I did know of her, aside from the name of her Rune, was that she was a mage who could exclusively wield fire, and obviously, she wielded a Katana since her Rune was a Japanese person. The ability she gained from being a Demon Blood was a Demonic Physique. My physique was designed for every form of combat, hers allowed her to build up heat to use as she saw fit.
Her name was Anastasia, The Flame Of Death, and she had rather long hair. Her hair was long and red that slowly turned to black. Her eyes were a dark shade of brown, and her hair was held up in a ponytail. She was also extremely pretty, she had a pretty face and an outstanding body. Her chest was average, but her lower half was not. Come to think of it, Irene, Angelica, and their parents were also rather beautiful. I wonder if that makes me lucky, getting to see them fairly often an all.
Breaking me out of my vaguely lecherous thoughts, I heard a message come from Godsbane, I should mention we can talk telepathically now that the chains of Gleipnir has been broken and thus we've fully contracted.
'Don't make eye contact with her, your bloodlines will resonate. And I assume you do not want her to find out that you're a Demon Blood?'
But it was too late, I looked at her right in the eyes and saw her expression change, but it was so fast that I couldn't see anything aside from a small blur. But I could tell just from that slight movement that she was unbelievably fast. In fact, she had almost certainly reached a level beyond Reinhardt's (blonde dude). She probably wasn't far off from fusing her Demonic Seed to her Mana Core and heart to unlock Demonic Energy, the next stage of Cursed Energy, in fact, she may already be at the stage where she was using Demonic Energy.
Ah and I should mention this, Cursed Attributes and Demonic Energy were related but were not the same at all, Cursed Attributes come from the running of Mana and Cursed Energy at once while Demonic Energy is the fusion of them. Elements produced by Demonic Energy are called Demonic Attributes, and they were the top level powers for Demon Bloods.
So basically, it worked like this: Demonic Attributes run on Demonic Energy > Cursed Attributes run on Cursed Energy and Mana.
"Greetings, I am Anastasia Gorgos, the principal of this Academy. I'm only here to take a quick look at everyone present and see the potential attendees of this grand academy. Do your best, and... don't dissapoint."
I could've sworn that she looked at me, but I couldn't tell fully without making use of my 'eyes.' But my eyes bore a slight Demonic presence. So if she put her mind to it, she'd notice. And I didn't want to reveal my cards to someone like her.
Anyways, her second name was derived from the Greek word Gorgon which meant 'terrfying.' And she was indeed terrfying, her 'Mana Arts' where truly formidable. She was one of the fastest mages alive with her use of heat and its causation. It was actually rather interesting to me.
Anastasia also had a Mana Art that could alter 'time' to an extent.
'Arts' were trump cards, ultimate moves if you would. They were the apex of strength and having one could differentiate between life and death even if there was a gap in power. They could even control or alter space, time, life, and death under the hands of certain people. They could also just be huge moves that eviscerated everything in a general direction or they could wipe people completely out of existence.
But, they were pretty varied, for example, Irene had one. 'Ice Empress' is a Mana Art. But anyways, every time one decided to cast a Mana Art, they would need to use an incantation. Spells of such grandiose proportions required an incantation to visualize and to bring into reality.
'But anyways, it'll be a while until I get a Mana Art. Mana Arts require unreal amounts of dedication, I haven't put the work into my Magic so I can't expect to get one soon.'
Then, a different person made their way to the front of the hall. An examiner. They enhanced their vocal chords and throat with Mana and spoke.
"We've already assigned the person you're going to be fighting for your combat exam. The examiners will send you to different rooms to fight in bit by bit. Only a few people will be in a room at any given point. You, your opponent, and an examiner. Occasionally others may be called in, but otherwise, only the three I mentioned beforehand will be present. And don't worry if you loose, whether you win or loose won't affect your score, only what you show.

And soon enough, I was led into a new room along with the black haired girl from before.
