Kapitel 20: 1.20

[Warning: Smut]

The bedroom was furnished just like the rest of the house, I noticed a large bathtub behind a divider, facing a wall-to-ceiling window that overlooked the pond outside. It had grown dark and there were floating lanterns on the water making it appear mesmerising.

Jianyu had seen Nanny Han back to the bungalow by the door where she lived.

I glanced around the room, realising I had not even had the time to pack clothes. All I had on me was my handbag with my mobile phone and documents.

Before I noticed I was no longer alone, I was lifted off the floor and carried towards the bed.

"Jianyu," I looked up at him wide-eyed.

His face remained stoic and cold as he placed me onto the bed, then began to pull my tights off alongside my underwear.

I gripped onto them like a lifeline.

"Resisting?" He arched a brow, looking impatient.

I gulped. He was still angry, right?

Recalling the last time he had so heavily pounded me into oblivion I started to feel more and more regret.

"Can, can we talk first?" I asked, trying to find some semblance of strength.

He let go, then sat at the edge of the bed, giving me a look that urged me to go on.

"Y-you," I did not know what it was I wanted to say. He had every right to be angry. He was clearly a large jar of vinegar right now, his eyes continued to subtly glance at my neck where though covered in concealer another man's mark lay.

Still, I was a person, not an object.

Besides, I still felt wronged about the way I had been swept up and duped into a marriage with this guy.

Sure he was Zhiyue's fiance. Though she had no idea because for some reason all her memories from before the orphanage were gone. That must be the reason why Lixin had only been able to show me from then until the day she died.

But he had lied to me. He had clearly told me they were living together as if they were dating. Implicated that there was something there when there was not.

"I remember some things lately," I mustered the strength to give him some half-truths of my own.

Okay, we were all liars here. I can let it go.

He flinched, "remembered what exactly?" Fear flashed in his eyes briefly, before they returned to their cold glare.

"I can remember from when I entered the orphanage," I pulled myself up so my back rested on the wooden headboard.

Panicked he almost fell off the edge of the bed.

"Luna, I can explain," the words blurted out of his mouth.

I crossed my arms and waited for that explanation, but his lips remained firmly pressed shut.

"Please go on," I tilted my head, wanting to see what this stinky captain could come up with.

"I, I," it was both amusing and overwhelming to see just how hopeless and helpless he looked right now. The great ice block Captain was an absolute mess before me and I loved it.

Flustered he abruptly moved up the bed, practically pinning me against the headboard.

"I was your fiance."

I nodded. He was.

"I knew who you were from the moment I met you again."

I nodded again, that wasn't hard to believe.

"When everything happened, I just wanted to keep you safe. You were already exposed."

"To the Mo clan?"

He nodded, "yes, I knew it was only a matter of time before they acted, so I acted first."

"You made me think we were already intimate."

He gritted his teeth, with a somewhat twisted expression. I recalled how he had been the one to find me. His fiance. Lying under another man, a dead man, naked and covered in very ambiguous markings.

My heart wavered.

"I can forgive you," I relented, "but you need to talk to me more, I already know everything now."

"I had hoped to keep you out of it," he sighed, "at least until it was safe."

"Life isn't always as clear cut as we think it is Jianyu," I reached out cautiously touching his tensed jaw, "even if you think I'm safe, who knows what else would happen? Only with knowledge can I protect myself."

He nodded glumly.

"I understand that now."

I smiled warmly, grateful he seemed to have learned his lesson.

This stinky captain was seven years older than Zhiyue, yet I felt like he was just a child before me. It felt weird. Even without my memories, I still felt like I'd lived many more years. I should be patient. He will learn.

Now we were stuck together, at least in this lifetime.

My heart ached at the thought one day I would leave and I would never get to see this face again.

"Why are you sad?" He reached to wipe an unexpected tear from the crease of my eyes.

When was I crying?

Life was so bitterly short, I had such a small time to spend with him.

I leaned forward making up the distance between us, tenderly kissing his lips.

The kisses grew more intense as we both began to pry the clothes off one another until we were both naked. His already large hardened length made my thighs clench at the remembrance of the last time.

Unlike last time, there was a strange sense of desperation as he laid me on the bed and kissed every inch of my skin. His mouth covered my erect nipple, making me gasp as his tongue circled it teasingly.

My hands wandered to his short black hair whilst I consciously felt him shifting to rest his cock against my core. I gripped his hair tightly, wanting nothing more than to just merge us together to make a whole.

He entered me just as he playfully bit at my nipple.

Then he raised his head to study my every expression as he slowly pulled out, to enter again.

Though I felt shy, I could not stop myself from looking back into his eyes that saw right through me.

"I love you, Luna," he spoke softly, before kissing my lips and entering me again.

I wanted to tell him I loved him, but the words stopped in my throat. What was love?

His speed increased with the growing need inside me, my hands could not stop wandering all over his skin, wanting to pull him tighter, closer.

Desperately I wanted nothing more than to just remain in this moment and forget everything else existed.

Exhausted he collapsed on me after we climaxed together, his head nuzzling into my neck as the cold winter air lingered on our bare skin.

***

Wearily I opened my eyes, feeling myself practically sticking to Jianyu's skin as we lay under the covers. It was so good to wake up warm, instead of in a cold bed.

"Morning," he smiled sheepishly as his eyes fluttered open.

"Good morning," I couldn't help but smile back.

A phone call interrupted the ambiguous atmosphere. Jianyu ignored it, reaching to kiss me whilst letting it ring until it stopped.

As soon as it stopped, it began to ring again. He groaned in annoyance, his twitching cock against my stomach made me laugh.

He rolled out of the bed and picked up the phone, "what is it?"

Snuggling into the blanket that smelled like him, I drifted back off.

"I have to go," Jianyu's kiss on my forehead woke me again.

"So soon?" I couldn't stop myself from pouting. He was always leaving.

"Work."

I nodded in understanding. He moved to walk towards the walk-in closet, then returned to walk to the ensuite. He paused for a moment, "I've already prepared clothes for you inside," he gestured at the closet.

"So thoughtful," I smiled, finally sitting up to reluctantly wake.

Whilst he showered, I played with my phone. A call came through and I bit my lip noticing the name CEO Jiang.

"What is it?" I grumbled in answer. It was better not to ignore this big buddha. Who knows what he would do if I did?

"Good morning to you too," he scoffed.

"I'm pissed at what you did yesterday," I angrily rebutted whilst walking towards the window wrapped in the thin inner bedsheet. I did my best to keep my voice low, not wanting Jianyu to hear me.

"What? I only kissed my wife?"

There it was again. Wife. Who wants to be your wife?

"If you have nothing to say then I'm hanging up."

"Oh, I have plenty to say," he laughed, irritating me further.

"I am Jianyu's wife in this life, I don't remember you, we have no relations, please just leave me alone."

"You know the Wu clan have an inherited gift from their founding immortal," Lixin ignored me and changed the topic.

"So?"

"They're gifted with extraordinary eyesight, one that can see souls whether inside a body or not."

I almost dropped the phone.

"See souls? Not just the dead?" My eyes darted to the still-closed bathroom door.

"Yes, dear, you got it right, he already knows his Zhiyue is dead," his happy tone drilled a hole into my heart.

The whole world crumbled around me.

He already knew Zhiyue was dead.

He already knew I was someone else.

"You're lying," I childishly spat back.

"You know I'm not."

"Lixin," I shouted in anger, "you better not be lying to me."

"Luna, come back, leave that lying bastard and come back to me," his words further pierced my heart.

I thought I could overcome the lies from the start. After all, the guilt of my own lie outweighed it. But if he knew, if he really knew…

"Luna," Jianyu's voice called from behind me, startling me into dropping the phone. How long had he been standing there?
