Jack and Steven had reached Jack's house, which was 221B Baker Street. He was exhausted from the work and all he wanted was a nap. But before that, he wanted to sort things out with the system and complete the first case mission which was ongoing for him.
"Care for some tea?", came an old voice from the door, and there he saw Mrs. Hudson standing with a walking stick. He was confused as to how she could live all this while, as she was quite old when Sherlock was alive.
"Ohh, if you're wondering if I am the same Mrs. Hudson, no I am not. I was left in charge of this for generations to come, and you may know me by another name, Mrs. Turner", she said with a smile.
Jack then remembered something that he had read before. That Mrs. Hudson had hired a maid when she was nearing her old age, and that maid was called Turner. She was now in her seventies, and with a walking cane, she could walk around the place and command others.
"Granny! How many times have I told you not to go up the stairs!", came a woman's voice from below, and a young woman appeared from behind Mrs. Turner. She was a beautiful young lady, with slight makeup, and was wearing loose clothes which suggested she was in a pajama.
"Come on Granny. You need your rest", she said as she took her hand in hers and began to lead her down the stairs. Jack quickly got up and went to the door, to look at the person who was escorting her.
"Mrs. Turner?", he called her. She turned her head with a smile and there was a slight sadness visible in her eyes.
"You may call me Mrs. Hudson. I loved her and after her death, I adopted her name and became the Mrs. Hudson of this place. So please, do call me Mrs. Hudson", she replied as she went down the last flight of stairs, and turned around to reach her house.
He went back inside and plopped himself onto the sofa, and pulled up the system that had been bestowed by Holmes.
"It's only been sixteen hours and this whole thing is blowing into proportions too large. What would Sherlock do if he was here?", he began to think and closed his eyes. After a few seconds, he opened them up and there was still confusion visible in it.
Just as he was about to leave, he saw Sarah walk into the place, and he quickly ran towards her. She had worry visible on her face, and it was confusing to him as to why she was worried.
"Are you hurt anywhere? You were in the explosion that happened in that house right? And what is this about a fourth murder and you were not able to prevent it?", she fired her questions rapidly. Jack was looking forward to asking her about the autopsy reports and getting her number too.
"I am doing alright, but let me ask you this. Do you have another copy of the autopsy? I really need it as the copy that you gave me was burnt away", he said as he pointed to his burnt coat which was lying on the floor.
She sighed out loud as she pulled out her cell, and opened up a soft copy from her files. Jack snatched her phone from her hand the moment he saw the autopsy report.
"Hey! You're not supposed to do…"., she paused as she saw him ceasing his eyebrows. She was confused as to what was going on when the frown then turned into a smile.
"So that's how he got killed! Brilliant! Genius! I want to meet this person so badly! I might begin to admire their tactics!", he exclaimed every line. Sarah was confused about what was going on, but she kept her cool.
"The skin wasn't burnt just due to gas, but there was a kind of powder that was spread throughout the kitchen, and some of it, stuck on him. Which burned him even more. I was wondering how gas would have burned a body to this extent when I saw the first victim", he was thinking out loud.
"Also, in medical history, there is permanent anosmia. What is anosmia?", he began to think hard and pulled out his phone to find out the meaning of it. Sarah just chimed in even before he typed the word in.
"Anosmia is the complete loss of the sense of smell. It can either be temporary or permanent, depending on each individual. There is also another one, which is partial, and is called Hyposmia", she said and Jack turned his head towards her.
"The other two autopsies? Are they complete yet? At least the next one is the most important factor, as the other one didn't follow the same pattern, and the last one was suicide. I would love to know the truth behind these killings, and if these four are in any way connected", he said to her.
Sarah grabbed both his and her phone and saved her number into it. She then sent him all the files that were related to the case, and Jack nodded his head as a thank you and dived into the files.
"Not even a single notice?", she thought as she turned her head away from him. Jack didn't look up but he spoke to her.
"Also, nice haircut and coloring. And the lipsticks match too. Now, I would love it if you wouldn't disturb me in any way, As I would love to complete this whole deduction", he said as he kept on reading the files that were sent to him.
"He is definitely an adrenaline junkie. I wonder if he'll ever notice me", she thought as she slammed her bedroom door shut, which Jack took notice of but didn't care a single bit. He was invested in the autopsies.
"The first and the second ones have the same pattern. The powder which is invisible to the naked eye was spread, and then, when they were heated enough by sunlight, it caught fire and then exploded. But the problem between the first and the second was, why tamper with the gas pipes?", he began to think.
"Could it be that since he has no idea how long it would take for the powder to gain heat from a closed window, decided to tamper with the gas lines and thus, make it explode artificially?", he thought.
