Kapitel 23: Wangshu Inn
"Hello, I'm Wanyan. An archeologist." She introduced herself.
Igarashi and Sasori looked at her and nodded.
"Yunru." Igarashi introduced himself. It was common courtesy to introduce yourself after a person introduced themselves. Igarashi knows this both in his previous life and now.
"Liang." Sasori soon followed.
Wanyan nodded with a smile and sat down about a few meters away from Igarashi and Sasori, under a shade.
Remembering her question earlier, Igarashi replied. "We're heading to Wangshu Inn. How about you? As an archeologist, I bet you're here for the ruins, no?"
"Yes! I'm researching about the God of Salt that once dwelt here in Liyue." Wanyan gave a brief explanation.
'God of Salt? Wait... Wanyan?' Igarashi started thinking. He knows he must've heard of that name before for him to remember. Then, his eyes lit up, and remembered. 'Wanyan!'
He suddenly remembered who Wanyan was. During Zhongli's 1st Story Quest, he and the player were approached by an archeologist named Wanyan who wanted to investigate the remains of the God of Salt.
During the story quest, the players learned more of Zhongli's past, albeit a little.
Wanyan was saying that the God of Salt, which is the God she believes in, was "assassinated" by Rex Lapis in the past. Zhongli, throughout the whole quest, stayed vague about answering relating to the accusation that was made against him.
And at the end of the quest, they soon found out that the God of Salt did not die at the hands of Rex Lapis, but instead, her own people.
'Now that I've thought about it, there are treasures left behind by the God of salt in Sal Terrae...' Igarashi thought. There were two items that were still inside the sealed chamber where the God of Salt died. Though, he does not intend on getting it.
[New quest has been added]
'...' Igarashi was speechless. 'Yeah, I'm not gonna do that.'
It was too troublesome.
Igarashi lifted his hand to form a thumbs up with a plain expression and just said, "Good luck."
Wanyan nodded with a smile and rested for a bit before venturing deep into the Guili Assembly Ruins.
Igarashi also rested enough and he and Sasori continued their walk toward Wangshu Inn.
The walk to get to Guili Plains took at least an hour and a half from Liyue. And the walk to Wangshu Inn from Guili Plains would take at least the same time.
"Stop." Igarashi said as he put his hand in front of Sasori.
Igarashi and Sasori encountered three hilichurls. They were blocking the road and seem to be setting up camp.
Looking at the hilichurls up ahead, which don't seem to notice Igarashi and Sasori at all, the former looked at the latter and said: "Wanna fight them?"
To tell the truth, Igarashi was quite excited. He already spent his stat upgrade points and three of them were invested in his stats relating to fighting. So, he would like to test out how strong he is.
Sasori nodded and reached out his hand. "Polearm."
Igarashi opened his inventory and took out his sword and Sasori's polearm. And soon, two items materialized in Igarashi's hand. Igarashi handed the polearm to Sasori.
"Alright... One... Two... Three!" Igarashi counted to three before the two of them printed to the hilichurls.
The latter noticed them running up to them and immediately got alert. One took out a crossbow and started changing up energy.
"Hup!" Sasori grunted as he lunges upwards and struck his polearm to the Hilichurl that was holding a wooden club.
The polearm's end pierced the Hilichurl's body, causing it to bleed heavily. Sasori did not stop and continued plunging his polearm into the Hilichurl's body consecutively.
Igarashi, who was slashing and whacking a Hilichurl, saw this and was amazed. 'Dang, he's good...'
While the two of them were busy, they did not notice the third hilichurl has finally finished charging up their energy and started picking a target.
Its crossbow then moved in Igarashi's direction. The arrow then was shot with a glowing flame.
Igarashi wasn't able to notice this early and the arrow got 15 meters close to him.
Gathering up all of his reaction speed, he tried to lift his sword to block it. But it was too late, the arrow was less than 10 meters away from him. He closed his eyes in hopes of protecting them from the impact. 'Crap...!'
However, at this moment, something else happened. Instead of feeling the pain of being pierced, Igarashi did not feel anything.
He opened his eyes and saw... A purple force field? No, it looked like some kind of energy materialization. The energy was forming a wall for Igarashi and in the center, there was a floating Polearm.
"What the...?!" Igarashi was confused. He then looked around and saw Sasori.
The latter was stretching out his hand as if he threw something and behind him, was an electro vision that was floating as it glowed. "Haaa... Haaa..." Sasori heavily panted.
"That's... A vision?!" Igarashi was surprised. 'When did he obtain a vision?!'
'Wait no!' He then shook his head and focused on the main matter. He started sprinting to the archer and started fighting it. "Ha!"
Igarashi kept slashing his sword at the Hilichurl's body until it finally died of heavy bleeding. Its dead body soon turned charcoal-black and started dissipating in the air.
"Huff... Huff..."
Igarashi heard some heavy panting and immediately looked at Sasori who was on the ground with one knee. "Sasori!"
Igarashi immediately ran to Sasori and checked him if he was okay. As for the electro vision, it was beside Sasori.
"I'm... Fine..." Sasori said as he picked himself up.
Igarashi was supporting him and asked for reassurance. "Are you sure?!"
"Yes..." Sasori then looked at his electro vision with a confused look and said, "When... Did I get this...?"
Igarashi shook his head and picked up Sasori. "We'll think about this later. You must've drained some of your energy after using your vision. Let's go to Wangshu Inn quickly and rest there!"
Sasori grunted and went to pick up his polearm with Igarashi helping him and replied. "Alright. But... Are you hurt?"
"Me? No, no, I'm fine. It's you I'm worried about. Now let's go." Igarashi insisted.
Sasori nodded and the two of them hurried their journey to Wangshu Inn and then to Mingyun Village.

After about walking for an hour with occasional rests, the two of them finally reached Wangshu Inn and sat down on one of the seats outside.
There were other merchants here as well that were also resting. Some were adventurers who were preparing to go and fight.
Sasori and Igarashi stayed there for about 15 minutes, resting. Soon, he looked up at Wangshu Inn and thought, 'Is Xiao there or is he hunting demons right now? Hmm...'
To be frank, Igarashi liked Xiao. Not in a romantic way, but his overall story. How he was once a slave to a God and was saved by Morax, to joining a family called "Yakshas", and finally, to a 'Conqueror of Demons'.
'Ah... The curiosity...' Igarashi thought.
He then looked at Sasori and said, "Are you good now?"
"Yes," Sasori replied. He has now mostly recovered his energy and was inspecting his vision.
He then looked at his vision and asked, "So, did you not know of this until now?"
He was still in shock finding out that Sasori had an active vision. While the pyro vision in his inventory is still in a dormant state.
"I don't know..." Sasori answered, confused too.
"Then, how was your first time using a vision?" Igarashi changed the subject.
Sasori shrugged and answered, "I don't know too..."
Hearing the reply, Igarashi sighed. 'This is going nowhere...'
"*Sigh* Alright, if you're feeling okay now, let's go upstairs. We can get more air up there." Igarashi said.
"Umu..."
Sasori nodded and the two of them started walking to the top of Wangshu Inn.
However, Igarashi had something different in mind. He secretly bought some blank papers from the system store and was gonna try something.
