[Reviews]
"Ezekiel- Given Rating 5 Stars: Even though this game is very simple, it was quite fun to play and even though its a genre of puzzle game, it doesn't give me stress and let me play leisurely, the art is also quite cute and the characters have so much personality despite only being launched towards the pigs, even though it looked quite cartoonish and seemingly for kids, I didn't mind at all and played the game, all in all, this is a good game"
"Leah- Given Rating 5 stars: The game is very fun and the characters are very cute, the levels are also fun to play, they are quite challenging and easy at the same time, my kids and I played this together and they liked it very much"
"Henry- Given Rating 4 Stars: It's a good game but the style just doesn't suit me, but hey, its still a great game"
"..."
Tanaka read each of the reviews and was quite happy with their opinion of the game, there were no 3 star rating below and all were either 5 or 4 star reviews, Tanaka sighed in relief as he saw this, at least he was sure that those popular games from his past life can still be popular in this world.
Tanaka then stretched his body on the chair and looked at his ceiling.
"I wonder what game I should make next? Since I don't have necessary skills to make big games, the ones I can choose are limited, but what I needed right now is Fame and Money, Fame for reputation points and Money for creating better games"
Making games is not so cheap, unless it's a low quality game, big games costs millions to make, and this is just the labor of the workers making the game, there is also promotions, game maintenance and also buying server, and much more, just a million is not enough for all of this.
Sure there are some low quality games that became famous and earned a lot of money but cases of that happening is much lower than an SSR being dropped in a gacha game.
"Speaking of gacha game, should I make one?"
Tanaka knew many popular gacha games in his past life that earned its developers tons of money, and also tons of hate, after all, gacha games are called scammy games and developers uses that to earn money while being cursed by its players.
Its a double edged game for the developer, and thinking about it, Tanaka couldn't actually make an Gacha game because he doesn't have an IP or also known Intellectual Property that is popular in this world.
(IP is like a franchise, its price depends on how popular it is)
Simply, if he recreates a gacha game of one piece in this world, chances of it becoming popular is close to zero, because no one have ever heard one piece before in this world, it doesn't exist.
Tanaka could only sigh and throw away his idea.
"Ah, whatever, I still have a lot of time, I can just think it through after recording the song"
Tanaka sighed before turning off his computer and going to sleep.
The next day, Tanaka and the music club members started recording the song, Tanaka specially asked Ishigami to find a studio for them to record the song, and as Ishigami's family is rich and has a lot of connections, finding one was very easy and they also got to rent it for a cheap price.
Tanaka along with his friends and some new friends of his friends and the music club members made their way to the studio. It wasn't that far, just a few minutes of travel in a bus, it was located in a building on the 3rd floor.
It didn't take long for them to reach the place, the moment they arrived, they were immediately greeted by a guy with slight brown skin and an afro hair.
"Ah, what can I do for you?"
"My name is Tanaka, we came here for a schedule"
"I see, so it was you, then come in, my name is Brook, I'm the owner of this studio"
"Thank you, my friends also came with me, is that okay?"
Brook looked at the people behind Tanaka and saw most of them were girls.
"Of course, Yohohoho, come in, come in"
The group entered the studio, it was very big inside and Tanaka also saw many professional music equipments, there was also the recording room and equipment for tone adjustment, all in all, it was very complete.
Tanaka then talked with Brook about the recording and asked for somethings, Brook is very knowledgeable about music and he also patiently answered Tanaka's question, it didn't take long for their recording to start.
Tanaka and the music club members entered the recording room while the others are left outside, the music club girls then started setting up their instruments, they could have borrowed some from the studio but they were much more comfortable with their own items so Tanaka didn't mind.
The record room was very neat and spacious, Tanaka also couldn't hear a single thing outside, the room was isolated from the noise outside which Tanaka is happy about, because a single disturbance can cause the quality of the song to drop.
Seeing that the music club girls had already done setting up their instruments and started warming up, He also started warming up his voice, and it didn't take long for everyone to be ready.
"Okay, I will count to three with a ticking sound,, and then you guys start"
Brook spoke on the mic that was connected to the record room, Tanaka who was at the other side nodded, he then looked at the girls and also smiled and nodded while they nodded back.
The countdown then started.
*Tik *Tik *Tik!
Everyone quieted down and the sound of electric guitar was heard, the intro of Orion was quite explosive as multiple instruments were played together but it wasn't overwhelming but instead a mellow, the song Orion was quite a calm song at the start after all.
The recording took quite a few tries for them to get the best out of it so after that, the last thing to do was post production, it would probably take a few days for the post production to end, so after giving his number to Brook, Tanaka and the others decided to eat outside.
After finding an open restaurant they all ate there and talked to each other.
"..."
Anyway, while the the last bits were being edited, Tanaka pondered whether to find a publisher or not, if he finds a publisher, he will earn money from his song and can be turned into a cd, but after thinking about it, he didn't bother finding a publisher, because, let's be honest here, cd's are not that popular anymore, technology have progressed very far, why bother buying a cd when you can listen to it through internet or an app?
So Tanaka didn't care anymore, he instead created a new account in Metube and filled up the relevant information, then at the end, he named his Metube site, Undertale Music, yes, it was named after a game in his past life, it was also his favorite game and the name of the company he wanted to build in his past life,, and so he chose this name to represent him from now on in this world.
Of course, Tanaka didn't just create a single channel, he also created the channel for Undertale Studios, he also created a site for it, well, it looked crude and ugly so he decided to continue it tomorrow.
The next day, it was Saturday, and there is no school, so Tanaka spent his morning communicating with Brook about the song and making the sites for the Undertale Studio, of course, he also have to register his Studio as a company, thankfully, the gaming industry is very easy to enter and Tanaka just needed to pay some registrations before his Undertale Studio has been approved and was immediately officially recognized as a small video game development company.
"They are fast"
Tanaka praised the employees before continuing to decorate his website. Tanaka also planned to make a platform like steam from his past life, but since he only have a single game, he won't do it for now.
Anyway, he continued doing this until midnight, when the clock struck twelve, Tanaka stopped what he was doing and opened the site of the contest that he joined.
The final round of the contest will start now, and the results will be broadcasted tomorrow live in the website, now, Tanaka felt cold as he looked at the last top 10, most of them were RPG games and a few casual games, they were also of high quality, only the angry birds was the different one making it eye catching.
It also has high reviews and good comments, Tanaka was sure that this will catch the attention of the judges, speaking of the judges, Tanaka saw the name of the judges and couldn't help but take a deep breath, because, the gaming contest actually invited big shots.
Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of the NerveGear.
Sakata Gintoki, he is a professional gamer and a serious critic when it comes to games, he was working as a comedy actor.
Then the last one Suzuki Ichirou, a popular game developer who made a VR game and became widely popular, he was also a young man but was considered as one of the best Game Developers in the country, he was also a part of a company called Pendragon Studios.
Even though these names didn't exist in Tanaka's past life, as he did his research in the gaming industry, these big names are very well known and widely spread on the internet. Tanaka has read articles about them before.
Now, the pressure given in this tournament is much heavier than the first two rounds, not only Tanaka but the other 10 developers also felt this pressure, Tanaka took a deep breath and calmed himself.
Reaching the finals with Angry birds was already a miracle itself, the game isn't that really revolutionary nor does it have good graphics and a good plot, it was just a casual puzzle game, Tanaka was already satisfied reaching top 10, but he still hopes for his game to win 1st place.
After all, who doesn't want to win? Reaching the top means you are better than the other developers, the gaming industry game developer competition is much more intense than others think of.
Tanaka sighed, then closed the website, but just as he closed the website, he received a message on his phone, looking at it, it was a message from the employee's of the competition asking him if he will attend the stage or will he attend through livestream.
Tanaka didn't hesitate to reply that he will attend through livestream, the task he gave to the art club will also be done tomorrow, though it was only a picture and no animations, it was enough to attend the contest tomorrow.
And so, since it was already late, Tanaka turned off his computer and went to sleep, his website is also done anyway.
2 PM Sunday.
[And hello everybody! Welcome to the Video Game Contest for Newcomers, I am your host Has Shimura Shinpachi, and before we start, let us first do reviews for the games that entered the top 10!]
After he finished speaking, the screen changed and showed the demo of the top 10 games that entered the finals, it was a simple showing of the game characters, and also the reviews of the judges of the 1st and 2nd round.
Each games has their own unique attractions, the MC also explained the things about the game such as the plot or how it was played, though he didn't say much to spoil the audience.
