The following morning Layla was discharged from the hospital.
Her parents still weren't back from wherever they went, so it was Sarah who came to take her home.
An hour after they got home, a knock came on Layla's bedroom door.
"Sarah, I'm not feeling hungry yet," Layla called out burying her face deeper in her pillow. She heard the door open but she didn't look up.
"Why not?"
Layla raised her head from the bed and was surprised to see Dan standing there.
"Dan!" She squealed in excitement.
Dan stepped deeper into the room and came to sit on the edge of her bed.
Layla sat up on her bed and rested her back against the headboard.
Dan leaned closer and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. He placed his forehead against hers, rubbing his nose against hers, he asked, "How are you feeling?"
His voice was cool and soothing, Layla shut her eyes.
"I feel much better now that you are here."
