Archer glanced at the man in disbelief. 

''If I told you about it, would you have let go of her? Would you have gone against your mother's wish and called off that wedding?''

Archer remained quiet.

''No. Because you are a selfish prick and you are so full of yourself to care about anyone else.''

Yes, no. He would not have called off that wedding. But not because of his mother, his reputation, or anything else.

He had ignored the skip of his heartbeat when he first laid his eyes on Elvina. He ignored the soft corner he had for her when she hugged him suddenly the night before his supposed wedding. He was deemed to marry someone else the next day. It was so wrong for him to have a soft corner for another woman at that time.

So, he ignored it all and numbed his feelings.
