Kapitel 59: PUZZLED
Mino's P.O.V
I felt afraid at the thought of losing her in my arms like that. I don't want to witness her dying due to intense agony.
I am a fool enough to think that she is a heartless vampire that can hurt a child, I ate all of those negative idea of her as I saw her risk her life to heal that child.
She is the noblest being I have ever seen in my entire life. I almost lose her, I almost allow myself to destroy the beautiful image of her in my head. I should never doubt her golden heart.
I frustratingly pulled my hair with both of my hands as I feel the cold snowy breeze embrace my body. I am outside of the house while she and the child is sleeping peacefully.
I already changed her cloth as I can't stand thinking about letting her sleep with that goddamn bloody dress. It's the least I can do as an act of service and apology.
The image of her intense scream and cries of agony is still fresh on my mind. How I desperately cut my wrist multiple times just to pour blood onto her mouth is hunting me.
I looked at the peace of fabric that was covering my wounded wrist and traced it with my pointing finger. These wounds are not enough with what she gotten herself into earlier.
He wasn't even her biological child yet she sacrifice her life as if she is his real mother, I also blame myself as I know that I caused her guilt to intensify with the way I treated her after that accident with the merchant.
I harshly looked up and inhale the cold air that my lungs are capable off. I closed my eyes as I felt a force forming in front of me. The air moved harshly to my face as I felt her descending from above.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked at her, a blinding light greeted me. I ignited my eyes so that I can stare directly at her without blinding me completely.
I've been expecting her company ever since she had helped me earlier. I can't entirely see her appearance but her light is enough for me to know her shape.
"Thank you," the first thing I mumbled when she completely descended. My gratitude for her is beyond this world. I knew very well that I am not capable of doing anything without her.
"No! You should thank yourself, it's your strong will to save her that made everything possible," she humbly replied with that sweet voice of her as I feel her power all over the place. It is over flowing that even the snow is not landing on her well lit skin.
I just smiled lightly but it disappeared as soon as negative thoughts flash rapidly on my mind.
"You'd help me so much yet I don't have anything to offer back," mahina kong sabi habang tila may halong kahihiyan para sa aking sarili. "No! Your presence in this world is a favor enough."
I looked at her with confusion in my head. Why am I so important to be part of this world? Why does it feels like she is relying on me?
I shook my head slowly while the thoughts of my self-doubts resurfaced.
"I'm a fool right? What does it feel witnessing that from above?" I inquired as a pity laugh escaped on my mouth.
"Nakakalungkot," malumanay lamang niyang pahayag sa akin. Habang nararamdaman ko ang mabagal niyang paglalakad patungo sa akin.
"Am I allowed to ask?" tanong ko sa kaniya habang ramdam ko ang lakas ng kaniyang presensya na papalapit sa akin. Nakita ko ang marahan niyang pagtango sa akin na tanda na maaari akong magtanong.
A bitter smile formed on my lips. This is too much self pity!
"There are a lot of other beings, so why me?" I inquired as she is narrowing the distance between us.
"Bakit ba "hindi" ikaw?" she inquired back. "Oh come on! You should know that better than anyone else, there's a lot of reason to not choose me, can't you see? I'm weak, I'm close minded, my power is borrowed, I don't have any skills, I lack will, I lack everything that will make me special," I said frustratingly towards her but I immediately heard a chuckle.
I saw how she slowly sat down on the log that I am currently seated. She slowly lifted her right hand and held my chin so I can face her.
Ever since I saw that vision of a lovely child, I became comfortable with her even though I need to act in front of Vreihya for my own reasoning.
"Those negative thoughts of yours is there as a sign that a part of you is human," she calmly stated as she slowly removed her touch on my chin.
Wait? A part of me? I am entirely human, am I not?
"Wait? What do you mean?" I immediately inquired as a vast of questions flashed on my mind.
I saw how her hair swayed with the cold breeze as well as her dress that was entirely covered with light.
"Mino, you are far more special and powerful. You just need a little push, a push that I can't give you right away," she said while her voice had this hint of magical serenity.
"But I-"
"If only you knew what I knew, you will understand that you are the keeper, and fate had selected the right treasure for you to keep," that statement confused me more. "She is not the center of all of this..."
"It's you!" she stated and I can literally feel my jaw dropping.
I blinked while looking at her and I know that the chuckle that I am hearing right now is because of how confused I looked in front of her.
"Why do humans always think that they are not that worthy to be the center of everything? That they are not meant to be the same level of beings like the lovely princess?" she inquired as she slowly lifted my wounded wrist.
"Ahm? Because they can literally kill us in a snap?" I answered. "They can consume our blood then tear us apart with a single blow?" I added.
Silence triumph to surround us as I feel how she gently trace the fabric covering my wound with her left fingers.
"That's why you are here, your sole purpose is to change how they view your kind," she said while I saw how she is gently pulling the knot of the fabric so it can be loosen up. Her touch is dream-like if you ask me.
It feels unreal and bizarre, like an illusion.
"You know I can't understand a thing right?" I exclaimed but as calm as I can be. "Hindi lahat ng katanungan ay kailangan masagot sa parehong araw na nabuo natin ito, naisin man natin o hindi, may mga tanong na kinakailangan ng tamang pagkakataon, oras at sitwasyon kung saan makukuha ang kasagutan," she said as she unwrapped my wounds na hindi nagkusang maghilom.
I just nodded slowly with her reply. She's right! Then maybe I will just ask questions that I think can be answered this instant!
"I am not even her original mate, so why do you keep on pushing me to stay here?" I inquired one more time. "She's never your original too," she said and that... confused me even more. Wait what?
"I told you, ikaw ang hinahanapan ng tamang kapareha at hindi ang prinsesa," she casually said as if what she is saying right now is not surprising. Woah! Woah! I can't process anything right now.
"Woah sit down," she said as I stood up because I am surprised while she is still holding my wrist. I am still puzzled as I sat back down to my seat next to her.
"But- but-" I protested to her but I heard another batch of cute chuckles from her as I felt my wounds starting to disappear. Woah wait! I wanted for Vreihya to see that.
"I think I stayed longer than I should be," she started. "Some people can have all the power that you don't possess but it doesn't mean that you will instantly lose a battle, losers are those who instantly back out with just thinking that there would be a battle without even trying to win it."
"No no no I-" my protest instantly cut short when she immediately transformed into a brighter light and quickly ascended from where she was seated.
I quickly looked up and saw how the light surrounded the moon above, becoming brighter as the light was completely absorbed by it.
Okay? I am extremely confused right now. What just happened?
I walk back and forth as shuttered thoughts are filling my head. What does her words supposed to mean?
My human mind are not capable of comprehending anything. There are a lot of holes and questions that I want answers.
I bit my lips as every part of our conversation is rolling in my head. It is in repeat and I got more clueless as it continue to replay.
Can somebody explain to me what the hell I got myself into?
I look instantly at my wrist, no trace of the previous scars can be seen. Heck Mino! What a roller coaster hell of a ride you got!
