Kapitel 30: What Is This Strange Feeling?

My body tensed and I remained rooted in place, my heart thundering as I battled an internal struggle. An immense frown threatened to take over my features and I tried so hard to ensure it didn't show. The muscles around my eyes slowly started to throb and I ended up looking away, my hatred of him growing even more.

'Just wait a little longer. With time…' 

"She bled from the orifices of her face, but they stopped after a short time… that was all," I murmured. The words felt so heavy on my tongue and difficult to let out. I swallowed. 

The next thing he did was something I had expected. He flitted out of the chamber, possibly to check up on Edna and panic started to set in. I thought of her pitiful form struggling to clean up the blood. I did not know how Lord Fashire treated his servants, but I wasn't entirely sure he would let a wounded one work, especially one he gave freedom over his chambers… based on how Edna had been acting.
