Valerian did not understand what Cupido was talking about. He was alerted by the quick and heavy thumps in the distance. He could tell that something was approaching him, and it was fast. He looked at Cupido and plucked another note from his musical instrument. 

The mana threads on her body tightened again, and Cupido gasped in pain. She did not expect this young man to be so ruthless. She said, "What are you doing?" 

Valerian said, "I do not have much time before I am in danger again. Now will you undo the spell, or do you want me to kill you to break this spell?" 

Cupido was shocked. She asked, "You mean you will kill me?" 

Valerian gazed at her with a cold set of eyes and nodded. However, he did not hide his thoughts. Cupido wanted to morph into her natural form, but the blockage of mana points had washed away her dreams too. Ultimately, the lady withdrew her spell, and Valerian realized his mind had turned lighter.
