"You..." Jian hissed darkly, taking a step closer to Neveah.
The intensity of the rage reflected in those mismatched orbs had Neveah shocked to silence.
Neveah had expected King Jian would be displeased, but this was far beyond displeasure, it was full blown rage.
From the slight strain on his face, it looked to Neveah as though he was barely restraining himself from lunging at her.
Neveah was not certain exactly what angered King Jian so but even Neveah's wolf curled back within her mind in perfect tandem with Neveah's wince.
'His predator is right on the surface Veah, be cautious.' Neveah's wolf warned.
Neveah did not truly need the warning, she had already taken notice of the dim glow in King Jian's eyes.
"I... I shouldn't be here..." Neveah admitted.
It seemed Neveah was saying this particular phrase much too often in recent times.
