Kapitel 492: Music's In My Blood

"Voila!" Mateo announced proudly once he finished drying Rachel's hair. "You're good to go, chiquilla!" 

"Chiquilla. Kid," she said. 

"You speak Spanish?"

"And French and German." 

"¡Impresionante! Feel free to practice your Spanish with me any time."

Joy had no idea her daughter spoke four languages. Where would she have even learned them? She asked about it after they checked out and were on their way to a clothes store and Rachel shrugged and told her that she had lots of time alone with learning apps so she could play a bunch of instruments too. 

Who in the world had kidnapped her that let her do things like that? What would they have to gain from keeping her relatively distracted? 

"Do you like playing instruments?" Joy ended up asking rather than saying what was really on her mind.
