Nuquol laughed as the body of the human that he held in his hand went limp. He wasn't dead, not yet, but he could now do nothing to stop that fate from happening.
"And you somehow managed to kill a whole group of Nightblades? Well, you were tougher than most humans who I've come across, I'll at least give you that."
Out of the corner of his eye he saw one of the Nightblades land on a rooftop just ahead of him. Unlike Nuquol, who in spite of the injuries he had suffered was rather fine, the Nightblade looked like it was on the verge of death.
"The others are gone," the Nightblade said through ragged, uneven breaths. "We underestimated his companions, and paid the price for it."
Nuquol gestured for the Nightblade to come down to him, an action that was promptly carried out. As the smaller creature landed on the ground, Nuquol threw Gus' body away, before grabbing the Nightblade by the throat.
