When he woke up, Gus was in a different place.
He was in a building, made of stone and metal. A small window, made simply out of metal bars and an opening in the wall stood high above him, letting in the only light he could see.
On the other side of the room were more bars, fashioned into a door. Gus could see through them that he was in a far bigger room than it had seemed. There were rags littered on the floor, and chains dangled from the ceiling. From some other unseen places, Gus could hear the tortured screams of something, sending chills racing down his spine.
"This is a prison, right?" he asked aloud as he pushed himself up to his feet. His voice was raspy to hear, and his mouth was incredibly dry. "But how did I get here?"
