Kapitel 30: Chapter 30

F814 heard the clomping steps long before they reached her. She put down her pick and picked up the gun that never left her side. Would the mining company never stop sending its stupid scouts? She thought for sure she ended their attempts to take over the installation on their last mission, or so the galaxy wide memo she'd discovered in the asteroid's head office indicated.

Or, maybe it wasn't another company employee looking for profit. Maybe it was pirates. Either way, it didn't matter. She had no interest in letting anyone into her now peaceful world. An existence where she did what she wanted, when she wanted, boring as it was. At least now, despite the tedium, she controlled her own fate, and she refused to give up that freedom.
