Kapitel 132: Intermission

This time, our protagonist has encountered the king and the god who vowed his revenge against Clive. But being the cheat Clive is, he breezed through them. More like, the king probably has PTSD of what Clive did to him. Even Apollo, the ever so proud son of the god king, has fallen into depression. Because, he was knocked out in one punch.

What Clive did was truly mean and unbelievable! No one would even believe it if they hadn't witnessed it firsthand. Trevor was starting to get used to Clive. Gwen did put some good words for Clive.

Clive will now take a short break. He has to unwind as well. But the power balance has already been destroyed.

"What should we do now?" (Louis)

General Louis asks the king who is sitting on his chair like a fool. He is flabbergasted. In a really bad way. Gwen and Trevor are standing beside him. General Louis looks at Gwen.

"He was quite friendly with you, wasn't he?" (Louis)

"General, I can sense doubt in your question. Do not worry. I won't do anything to endanger ourselves and this kingdom. But Clive is a different matter. He won't do anything rash as long as you don't harass him." (Gwen)

General Louis stopped asking. But the king is regaining his composure little by little.

"Gwen…"

He wearily asks. Gwen looks at him.

"What is your relationship with that boy?"

"He is a longtime friend of mine. We have known each other since he was 5 years old. And you can say that he is the person I am interested in the most." (Gwen)

Gwen and Clive are similar. They both have become harbingers. They did share similar hobbies and were quite friendly to begin with. And one could not guess if their relationship was fraternal or romantic. They were that close to each other.

When Trevor tried to ambush Clive, Clive knew it was Gwen who gave Trevor that idea. It was her way of messing with Clive. Clive never thought too much of it. They would oftentimes bump into each other while walking around the town.

Everyone else avoided Clive as he was notorious. But Gwen was different. She didn't really care for public views and her family position. She was straight forward with Clive.

The king stands up. He comes to Gwen and is really angry. He was about to hit Gwen when his hand was cut off.

Another abrupt event happened. His hand was separated from his arm. Blood splattered from the wound. It took him a moment to realize that his arm was gone but he couldn't scream again.

He fell down from the stage and is rolling around again.

"You sure do have a lot of nerve. You kill all of us, summon us here, order us to fight the demons on your behalf and you want us to become the recipient of your violence as well. You should know your limits, human!" (Gwen)

It was Gwen who spoke however she seemed a bit different. Her body is covered in a white aura. She is shining and giving off immense pressure. Trevor who was beside her was almost blown away.

General Louis hasn't been able to move from his spot. He knows that moving a muscle is akin to inviting death.

Gwen has manifested her harbinger powers. She is currently in a semi conscious state where her anger is leading her. But she soon comes back to her senses and heals the king.

The king shrank back in fear when he saw her.

"This is why I try to remain as calm as possible. I am not as nice as Clive. If you get on my bad side, you won't get a swift death. Your death shall be painful and everlasting." (Gwen)

Saying that, Gwen left without saying a word to Trevor. The three who are left there are Trevor, the king and general Louis. The king meekly looks at Trevor.

"Trevor, do you have any idea of what has happened just now?"

"I do not know. I knew that my sister favored Clive but that is just obsessive. I didn't know she felt like that. And her behavior just now was abnormal. Do not worry! I will try to get to the bottom of it. For now, you should not approach my sister." (Trevor)

Saying that, he left running after his sister.

"Your majesty, you should get up. Sitting down on the ground is not befitting of a king." (Louis)

He stand up and looks at him hand. His right hand which was cut off is back where it should be.

"Tell me Louis, did we just invite our death to our house?"

"I cannot say. But I am certain that Clive and Gwen should not be messed with." (Louis)

When the king was dusting his rear off, he saw a collapsed wall.

"Louis, what is that over there?"

He pointed to the collapsed wall and general Louis looked as well.

Louis sighs. He can't get any more surprised than that.

"That should be Lord Apollo. Is he though?" (Louis)

Both of them waln towards the collapsed wall and see a body foaming from its mouth. It is indeed Apollo.

"A mighty god reduced to a beat up piece of rag. Did we do the right thing by summoning them?"

The king questions again. Because, no sane man could follow someone after all this. They have started doubting the god king Jupiter. Their war against demons, does it even hold any meaning?

Clive sure did a number on Apollo. Ares had to come to pick him up after getting the news. The divine realm or heaven has been plunged into chaos. The devils are thrilled to hear the news. But they have taken note of Clive as well.

Clive's journey is about to become longer as mob characters will keep trying to get in his way.
