I somehow managed to bring Fay back to her senses. But she is still kinda out of it.
She is mumbling things and is looking at me like I am a demon or something.
"Fay, I want you to try and break that ice."
I point at the frozen tree. A charred tree which I froze during my cryogenic flame testing.
"Eh.. I told you that I can not use magic here."
She is still going on about that.
"You can. You just have to try. I guarantee that this planet has magic."
"If you say so?!" She gave up.
She is being very docile. None of her majesty remains. When I first met her, she was like a spoiled princess. But now she is very obedient. Was she always like this?
"Master, stop making that face." (Hazel)
"Mmm….what face?"
"You are grinning. A very evil grin master. Are you plotting something?"
Hazel is looking at me with a grimace.
"Hey now, I am not plotting anything."
I show a smile to ease her but her grimace became even worse.
To be honest, I am plotting something. Hazel has the power release and accelerated growth skill.
I have to test them as well.
Now let's focus on Fay.
(Hey System, how can she use magic?)
(You give her a bit of your <Spirit>. It will convert into mana which will enable her to use magic.)
(Thank you.)
I touch Fay and give her a bit of <Spirit>.
"Nghhh…" She lets out a moan. Is it painful?
"Are you okay?" I ask her because I need to know if transferring <Spirit> poses any problems or not.
"No. It just felt a little warm and tingly."
Her face is kinda flushed. How warm and tingly exactly?
"Now you should be able to use magic. Use it to try and destroy that."
I point at the tree and tell her. She is looking around.
"Why do I suddenly feel magic power surging in me?" (Fay)
"No questions. Act fast." I hurry her.
She then closes her eyes. Maybe she has to focus.
"Is it gonna take time?"
I ask. But she didn't answer. I think it's better if I don't disturb her.
Hazel and Eden are standing beside me. I was focusing on Fay so I kinda forgot about them.
"Papa…" I felt a tug. Eden is tugging at my pants.
"What is it?"
"I am bored."
I understand. She is a kid after all. All of this is quite boring for her.
I pick her up on my shoulder.
I know I shouldn't do this but this should at least alleviate her boredom.
"Master, it's dangerous if you do that."
Hazel is telling me off for doing this.
But Eden is enjoying it. She is saying things like, 'so high' and stuff like that.
I am not that tall but Eden is short. So this must be pretty high for her.
We were lost in our own world when I heard System again.
(Sorry to bother your family time but that girl is done.)
I look at Fay and see that she has a fireball on her palm.
It took her a while to make that much. And, isn't the size smaller than mine?
But I have to observe.
"Go forth and bloom-Fire Lotus." She shouted that and threw the fireball.
But what is with that embarrassing name? Isn't she embarrassed when she shouts it like that?
And the fireball is quite slow. She is standing approximately 5 meters away from the tree. But it took it almost 4 seconds to reach and the area it hit didn't change.
The fireball completely disappeared without any change in ice.
Not even a single drop of water is seen. It's as if the temperature never changed.
Fay is standing there, shocked. We go near her.
"Is that all?" I ask her.
"How can that be? I hit it with a superior fire spell. And how can that ice be in one piece?"
Fay is saying that with disbelief on her face.
But superior spell? Do they have a ranking system for spells?
"Fay, hit me with that spell now."
"Are you crazy? Do you want to die? That spell can turn a human into charcoal." (Fay)
"Honestly, I don't think it's that impressive. It couldn't even melt the ice. It must be not too hot. Anyway, hit me with that. And don't shout out the name."
"Why? It's basic manners for a mage to say the name of the spell."
She is saying as if it's obvious. Is she serious? Do they seriously do that?
"Are you serious? Do you seriously tell the name of the spell?"
"Yes. Even when mages are battling, they always say the name and rank of the spell. I omitted the rank but said the name." (Fay)
"I give up. I will give you a piece of my mind later. Now hurry up. It's almost night."
She closes her eyes and focuses again. I put Eden down and tell them to stand a little away from us.
My body is still enhanced. Let's not undo the enhancements. I should be able to tell the difference even with the enhancements.
I was keeping track of the time as well.
It takes her two whole minutes to throw the fireball. How can anyone fight like that?
And she didn't shout the name. Just threw it.
The ball is approaching me. Really slowly. I mean, I can just go ahead and touch the ball instead of waiting for it to hit me.
Which I did. I moved forward three steps and touched the ball with my hand.
The ball covered my hand and it disappeared. I didn't even feel the heat.
Was something there? It's not fire. It's too cold to be called fire.
"Wh...." She tried to say something but stopped midway.
She then walked to me and grabbed my hand.
She is clearly looking for the burn marks or something however there's nothing like that.
It didn't even feel hot.
"Let's go home. We can talk later."
It's almost evening. So I suggested going home first and then talking.
Hazel and Eden agreed but Fay stayed silent. I guess she will take some time. I will talk to her later.
I put Eden on my shoulder and we start walking. Though Fay is actually just dragging her feet.
"Hazel, look after her."
"Ok."
Hazel nodded and held Fay by her arm. She isn't that wary of her now. At first those two would bicker all the time.
But now they seem to have made peace with each other. I look into the horizon and see the setting sun. It's beautiful.
Next up is Hazel' training.
