Kapitel 38: Chapter 38 - Half-Blood

Claire fell sick two days before the ceremony. The entire palace was in chaos as the medicos did not know how to treat a human. Xavier was tense throughout the day. He had given his words to Lord Eustach that he would take care of Princess Claire.

My ability to heal was well known back in my kingdom. I had treated a lot of vampires before, even helped Xavier when he was in heat. But I wasn't confident if I would be able to treat Claire or not.

However, Xavier seemed to have a lot of faith in me. He requested me to help Lady Claire. I failed to refuse his request since he seemed stressed out.

I went inside Claire's room for the first time. The amount of pink and white made me nauseous. Claire appeared peacefully sleeping on her bed. However, she was actually unconscious. Her face had become even paler.

Lydia was waiting by her side. She looked tired and deprived of sleep. Whenever I met Claire since she arrived in the palace, her pale skin would always catch my attention.
