Owen's POV

(Five hours earlier)

I stared at the sky.

It's a wonder that I am noticing how beautiful the little stars are right this second. I have never really noticed them before.

I never noticed the twinkle or the shapes, I never noticed how the moon looked so much like a mother hovering over them.

I haven't noticed a lot of things in a long time.

Emily's exit in my life halted a lot of things. The occasional smile one has when they see something funny, the happiness that comes from the mundane…mundane things like star gazing.

My life can be chronically divided into two sections, with Emily and without Emily.

Without Emily, life simply lost its taste. The sun wasn't scorching and the moon wasn't pretty, the stars were irrelevant and living was a sad day to day activity I had to endure.
