Kapitel 20: Chapter 20: Chateau Arrow

Katie’s POV

“We’re here ma’am.” Arrow’s driver spoke to me, his eyes caught mine through the rearview mirror.

The drive to Arrow’s house was longer than I had anticipated. My mind had been occupied by the day he had so carefully detailed for me. A day of leisure, he had said, a day with no worries, absolutely filled to the brim with every pampering treatment a woman could hope for.

My body was polished, my hair freshly blown out, my nails painted to match my toes, and just when I had thought it was over, Olivia met me for lunch on a private veranda overlooking the waterfront, followed by a shopping experience just for me.

Every piece of clothing was rich, with fine linens, soft pieces of cashmere. But none of the day's experiences made my heart flutter as much as sitting in the town car on my way to see the man who was anxiously awaiting my arrival.
