<Elsie's Point of View>
For just a few hours, I lied and slept soundly in my room, a cold, wet liquid splashed on my face until I woke up and coughed. Damn it, who had the nerve to splash me so wet like this?! I caught my breath and casted a sharp glance in the direction where Cleo was standing while carrying a bucket. Her face showed annoyance. I should be the one making that face because she doused me with water!
Cleo screamed while pointing at the clock on my wall that read 07.30 am, while I wiped my wet face with the blanket. I've only slept for a few hours though. I think I got home from Chloe's party at four. I need more sleep!
"Now hurry up and shower and get ready to go to school! Because from now on, you and I go to school together. In one car."
I turned quickly to hear her last sentence. "What?"
"Yes. We're one car from now on. I have to monitor you so you don't disappear every time you come home from school."
"Stop acting like a mother, Cleo," I growled in annoyance, throwing the covers off and getting up from my bed.
"If I don't lead you, you'll be encroaching further, Elsie!"
"Yeah, whatever. It's up to you what you want to talk about." I covered my ears with both palms, ignoring Cleo's chatter by going into the bathroom. I accidentally slammed the bathroom door tightly as a form of my subtle expulsion.
"I'll be waiting at the table. You don't want to come to breakfast this morning with us."
Ignoring Cleo's last words, I undressed and turned on the shower. Cleo's stomping was heard outside, getting fainter with the sound of the door closing. I took a deep breath. Deliberately let my mind wander far away while feeling the cold shower water falling all over my body.
Suddenly my eyes opened remembering all the mistakes I had made. Mistakes? No, whatever I did wasn't a mistake. I'm just a victim here. My cheeks that had been wet by the shower water suddenly received the arrival of another clear liquid. My tears fell slowly, jostling with the falling drops of cold water.
["You love me right, Elsie?"
"Uhm… huh?"
"I need your sincerity."
"Sincerity?"
"Are you ready, Babe? Mmm?"]
The image didn't want to leave my mind. Keep trying to break into my head and spread terror. Reminds me of the annoying face that has ruined my life. The face of someone who only left scars and pain, and obliterates my perception of a single word that is forbidden to me. Love.
