Kapitel 178: Flashback From The Future VI

"What about Natasha??" asked Ernest as he looked at his Grandson who was behaving rather strangely this morning, first he had come here unannounced with the others, and now he looked like someone had died.

"Is she coming over here as well?" asked Ernest with a smile as he would like that, he had not seen Natasha for a while, and if the children decided to make his day today by spending the entire day with him, then he would be happy, lately it had only been him and Alfred in this house, and not to complain but Alfred was rather very boring.

Michael, Dom, Nine, Charlie and Lia all looked at each other as they knew that this would not end up well at all, but they had to do it… they had to tell him, no matter how much it would break his heart.

"Well No Grandfather… Natasha is not coming over" said Dom as he had to face it… he had to face the truth.

"Oh well that is alright, but do tell her that I want to see her" said Ernest.

"In fact, I am going to call her, it's been a long time since I have heard her voice" said Ernest as he smiled and Michael looked away, telling Grandfather was going to be more painful than when they found out themselves.

"Grandfather…" said Dom as he did not know how to say this, he did not know how to tell Ernest, he wanted to find a way to put it lightly… but there was nothing light about death, there was only grief.

"You know, with all of you just standing there I really think that you have bad news for me" said Ernest as he noticed that the atmosphere was somewhat heavy.

"Tell me, did the company crash?" asked Ernest rather causally and Dom shook his head no.

"Did the shareholders pull out?" asked Ernest and Dom shook his head.

"Then what is it?" asked Ernest.

"Out with it boy, I do not have all day" said Ernest as it would seem that they were all here just to come and waste his time.

"Grandfather…" said Dom as he closed his eyes and he took a deep breath… this was it, he could not hide it any longer, and he knew that in the next few seconds, he would hate himself.

"Grandfather… Natasha is gone" said Dom as he opened his eyes and he looked at Ernest.

"What do you mean gone?" asked Ernest as he looked at Dom coldly and then he looked at the others as they avoided his gaze as he looked back at Dom as he narrowed his eyes at him.

"Grandfather… she is gone" said Dom.

"Someone…" said Dom as he paused, he could not say the words out loud.

"Someone did what?" asked Ernest as his voice sounded very cold, just what kind of play did they think that they were performing here??

"Someone…" said Dom as he could not say it.

"Someone did what Dominic answer me!" said Ernest as he stood up and he walked to Dom who avoided eye contact with him.

How could he look his Grandfather in his eyes and tell him that Natasha… Natasha who was like his own daughter… was gone… and he was sure that his Grandfather would blame him, no matter what he would blame him, and he could not blame him for blaming him, because he was at fault.

"Grandfather please calm down" said Michael.

"Michael be quiet, I am not talking to you… Dominic is talking and he should be a man and answer me" said Ernest as he snapped at Michael and Michael remained quiet.

"Now Dominic, continue what you are saying about Natasha" said Ernest as he turned to look at Dom.

"Grandfather… she was murdered" said Dom as there was no other better way to put it.

Ernest's eyes went wide as he could not believe what he had just heard, this had to be some sort of Joke.

"Dominic, you are no longer a child" said Ernest coldly as even though his face looked very cold, his heart was racing, deep down he knew that Dominic would not joke about something like this.

"Grandfather, I am not lying to you" said Dom as he looked his Grandfather in his eyes.

"Natasha was… she was murdered" said Dom once again.

"Murdered??? Murdered??? What do you mean murdered?? Where could she have been to be killed??" asked Ernest as he could not take this at all.

"Grandfather she… she was found in the forest" said Dom as he sighed.

"Dominic" said Ernest as there had to be no truth in what Dom was saying, but Ernest looked around the room, and no one was laughing, far from it, they were all sad as they avoided his gaze.

"What was she doing in the forest?" asked Ernest.

"I don't know Grandfather I don't know" said Dom as he replied and in that moment Ernest used his walking stick to hit Dom's leg in anger.

"What do you mean that you don't know??" asked Ernest in anger as he hit Dom's leg again and Dom just stood there.

"Are you not her husband, are you not supposed to take care of her??" asked Ernest.

"So how can you come here and tell me that you don't know what is happening??" asked Ernest as tears began to drop from his eyes and Dom was surprised, he had only seen his Grandfather cry once, and that was when his Grandmother died.

"This is your fault Dominic, this is all your fault, you did not take care of her" said Ernest as he pointed at Dom as he cried.

"Grandfather that is enough" said Lia as she spoke up and she looked at Ernest.

"Natasha is not a child that needs to be watched every second and every hour of the day" said Lia.

"It's not Dom's fault, how could he have known??" asked Lia as she found this unfair, Dom was being blamed for something he knew nothing about??

"He was supposed to take care of her" said Ernest as tears dropped from his eyes and his voice was shaky.

"He was supposed to protect her, to make sure she was alright… and now she is gone" said Ernest as he broke down in tears and Charlie and Michael could not stop their tears as well, Ernest had never looked as defenceless as he was now.

"Oh Grandfather" said Lia as she began to cry and she walked to hug Ernest as he hugged her back.

"Grandfather, we all feel the way you do" said Lia as she cried and Ernest cried, he did not care at all, his Natasha was gone, just like that, and in such a horrible manner.

"Why??? Why was she killed why??? What did she do to deserve that?? She did nothing" said Ernest as he cried and Michael cried as tears fell from Dom's eyes.

"We don't know Grandfather, we don't know" said Lia as she sniffed and she cried.

"She left her daughter all alone, she left her alone, why?? Who did this to her, who?" asked Ernest as he cried, he felt so horrible like his heart had been ripped out, he had only felt like this once, when his dear Mary had died, but now, it felt so horrible.

"Grandfather, please calm down… please, you know you have to avoid anything stressful" said Lia as she cried.

"Don't tell me to calm down, don't, Natasha… my Natasha, she was so young, so full of life, and someone came and took that" said Ernest as he cried as he broke their hug.

"When did this happen?" asked Ernest as he looked at Dom.

"Yesterday at midnight" replied Dom.

"Commander Peter called me… he was there" said Dom.

"What is being done?" asked Ernest as he sniffed.

"He assured me that he will get to the bottom of this" said Dom.

"Good" said Ernest as justice needed to be served.

"And Joy… how is she, have you told her yet?" asked Ernest.

"She already knows" said Michael as he replied.

"How come?" asked Ernest.

"She was with me when I went to see Peter" said Dom.

"Why?" asked Ernest.

"I could not leave her home alone… she woke up when I did and she wanted to go with me" said Dom as he explained.

"Oh my God" said Ernest as he sighed deeply, what was becoming of his family?? Nothing but heartache, this was too much for a little girl.

"How is she?" asked Ernest.

"Not good, she is with mom" said Dom.

"Have you told Larry yet?" asked Ernest as Dom, Lia, Michael and Nine all turned to look at each other and then at Grandfather.

"I… I cannot bring myself to tell him" said Dom as he sighed and he told the truth.

"Dominic… Dominic, Dominic" said Ernest as he sighed and he began to feel dizzy.

"Grandfather take it easy, please sit down" said Lia as she helped Grandfather to his armchair as he sat down and he sighed as he held his forehead.

"Grandfather are you alright?" asked Charlie in concern.

"I am fine…" said Ernest as Lia got him a glass of water and he drank it… he needed to be strong… his family was falling apart.
