Kapitel 181: 24-Hour War(3)
Within the House of the Councilors in the capital city of the Republic, the counselors were once more discussing with each other regarding the current events, and are panicking in fear and they can't get contact with other military forces from the Empire because the Machine Army has terminated most of the messengers and possible communications. The Republican soldiers, knights, Paladins, battle mages, and a few remaining demigods will be the last defense against the invaders.
"This is a disaster! We lost our superior military of Fordalt!" One of the counselors exclaimed.
"It is over, we are doomed. It is the end of the Republic."
"We can't contact the Emperor, they might have blocked our way of communicating with the outside world!"
"These metal demons are really superior to us."
"Silence all of you! We need to leave now, the transportation room is just a few floor down, we might able to escape and alert the Empire from the invaders"
"No
"...We should hold them for long," Councilor Harris Gustav muttered underneath his breath, before sighing and casting a glance at another member, "So we have no ways to communicate with the other's and call for help?"
The Counselor could only glance down and say, "For now, no we can't make any communication efforts."
"Damn it. So now at this moment, communications with our forces in the outside world are down, and the enemy could very well be knocking on our door?"
At that precise moment, the doors of the chamber were suddenly smashed open and a group of Legionnaires soldiers stormed the room. At the same time, half of the guards and Knight Paladins pulled out their weapons and aimed at anyone beside them.
"Or perhaps the enemy was sitting beside you on the round table the whole time!"
"What is the meaning of this?!"
"Please no sudden moves," A Counselor member said, pointing his handgun at her. The defected soldiers followed and aimed their weapons at everyone in the room as he continued, "As of this moment, this nation is now under the control of the Machine Empire."
"Enough! What is going on?"
"Shut up. What is going on, Counselor Penwood, is a very good day for our glorious empire to rule this nation." Sir Reginald answered as he grins.
"You damn traitor!"
"It is a very good day indeed, considering I've just captured all of the most powerful individuals in the world." He said as he looked joyfully at them when one of the Paladins started chuckling, making him feel concerned, "What's so funny?"
"Why the whole thing of course," The Paladin knight simply replied with a grin, "Do you know who we are? Even weapons were aiming at us, it's like a group of frogs parading in front of a viper. Of course it's funny."
The Counselor member growls as he raises his handgun and points it in his direction, shouting, "It isn't funny when you are surrounded!"
"Oh boy, you guys are quite ignorant."
Before the Counselor member understood what was happening, one of his arms was suddenly torn off, leaving him screaming in pain.
"RRRRRaaaaaaaaghhh!"
The other soldiers immediately reacted to this and began shooting frantically. With a few movements, the Paladin Knight easily tears the legionnaires soldiers apart and falls down in a fountain of blood, killing them all instantly.
"Far too eas-."
But his celebration was cut short when his head got blasted by something faster than light itself.
Turning to the direction of the door where a hole could be seen, it was until the door was once again blown up as more Legionnaires, Android Soldiers took down the remains of the army.
A female legion without a helmet because it was damaged during her previous battle, she put down her battle rifle and put out an energy sword as she rushed towards a female paladin as she tries to kill her using an enchanted spear but the female Legionnaires able to dodge it thanks to her augmentative legs and her B-rank physical skills. The female legion easily dodges the paladin and decapitates her, instantly killing her.
Both Android Soldiers and Legionnaires killed every remainder of Liberation Soldiers, knights, and mages.
Two male Knight Paladins were able to kill four Legionnaires and then they saw three more Legionnaires come to the room and prepare for a fight. A dark-skinned male paladin using his enchanted sword goes to attack them only to be caught an advantage by a Legionnaires, judging his skills, he might be once a veteran soldier, he takes a right flank and shoots him at the side, killing him in the process.
A white Knight Paladin is shocked to see his friend is killed very easily, his friend was at least at mid A-rank and could take down an entire army of bandits just himself but was easily defeated by one Legionnaires who was another A-rank but at a peak of it. He hesitated and then, he immediately got shot by the head before he reacted by the veteran soldier.
The Android Soldiers come to help the veteran to kill both male and female paladins. Gunfire was heard, hypersonic rounds echoed in the room as each one pulverized the paladins. Some managed to pass the rounds by pure divine intervention. But when trying to hit one of the Android Soldiers with their legendary-class swords, they bounced off the armor without leaving a mark. Instead, the swords of the androids cut the armor like a knife cuts the water. There was no resistance and only mutilated bodies split in two were watered throughout the room.
The Councilors was on the ground, trembling. Their clothes were stained with the blood that was watered all over the floor. None of their mind could ever understand what had happened.
They could never defeat this enemy.
After taking care of the Republic's last defense, the Legionnaires force the Counselors to kneel on the floor.
"Fools! You forgot we have demigods on our side, once they arrive y'all will be doom!" The counselor shouted at the Veteran soldier.
"Oh, we don't need to worry, and second, I'm not here in command."
Then a familiar figure came to the room to see the counselors' scared looks. She chuckles to see them pissing their pants being threatened by a mighty power of the machines.
But it is not that they are afraid of the might, they are afraid of her and her appearance is easily known.
She threw the body in front of the counselors, the body wore the clothings of a demigod. Now they realize that the last demigod they had, was now defeated.
And the person who defeats it is none other than the ex-councilwoman of the Senadate Theocracy, a powerful Sorcerer and an Elemental summoner, and one of the many chosen puppets of the God of Death himself.
It is Aurora.
Ever since she was being captive in the Machine Empire's base, she became a battery to keep the portal alive and suffered for months, but now ever since Caitlyn and the Research department built teleportation technology of their own, she was free but they implanted a microbot to forget the whole suffering and now she became one of the ranks of the Legionnaires.
"It seems your military is no match for us," She said.
"A-Aurora! H-How?! We thought you were dead back in the Senadate Theocracy!"
"I was, but then I am reborn as a new person. I thank my new and great leaders for building a fine new world." She said with pride in her voice.
"What do you want, you bitch!" One of them yelled.
"Why? To conquer Fordalt, counselor Herm. While your weapons and technology are worthless for us, magic and magical items are the ones we are interested in. Soon, you will understand to never fight against the Machine Empire. Also, our Leaders have ordered us to execute all of you. You're not useful for our new Empire"
"What?!"
"No, please!"
"Please, have mercy!"
"I still have children to see me!"
"You will see your children soon..."
"Really?"
"Yeah, from hell." She said with a cruel smile and turned around and gave a hand signal as the Legionnaire soldiers held their Rifles at the counselors and were about to pull the trigger.
"Wait, no!"
"We don't deserve this!"
Aurora ordered to cease fire, she turns around looking all of the counselors in the eye one last time.
"Say that to the slaves you counselors allowed it to happen. You allowed human trafficking and get them raped in the Underworld for years, do they deserve it? You all knew my passive ability to read emotions and the secrets of people. I knew all of your dark secrets, hiding from the public and using the media to control the population so your reputation as the leaders of the nation will be safe and be re-elected. You're no different than the Liberal Party we mercilessly executed earlier. Shoot them down."
As she said her words, the Veteran Legionnaire nodded and gave the soldiers a hand signal to execute them.
They kept whining and wanted mercy so badly but it was futile as the Legions pulled the trigger, shooting the counselors, killing them all. The Counselors are dead as they fell on the floor and the pool of blood came out.
And now, Aurora went out of the capital to contact her new leader for the good news.
