Kapitel 145: World Items & God's Descent
As Artemis flew after hearing Silvanna that Pandora was taken, he immediately took off without saying a word.
Silvanna said to Artemis before he left that she needs to help as well but Artemis denies that.
As Artemis went straight towards the Imperial army, he was met with the same guy who he once defeated just a minute ago.
Pope Lincoln was still recovering from the last battle between him and Artemis, he twisted his hand back to its perfect angle from Artemis who just twisted it like it was nothing.
Demigods could live longer and their body could still regenerate if they were even heavily injured but that doesn't mean they couldn't feel pain.
"You little bastard, you know how painful it was when your hand is twisted and your groin crushed!" While everything his body has recovered and the pain like it wasn't there, the pain in his manhood still wasn't.
But Artemis doesn't even care.
"Piss off, or tomorrow there will be one Demigod less in the world."
Not giving him a chance, Artemis immediately uses his gravitational tech once again, increasing the gravitational pull hundreds of times, pinning the Demigod's movements once again before blasting him with his energy beam.
However, Demigod Lincoln won't make that same mistake again. He channeled most of his mana in his body both internal and external and created a massive shockwave, free from the gravitational pull around him.
Grass, trees, and the air itself got pushed by the powerful force of the demigod, Artemis however, still has a calm face and didn't change his position.
Seeing that expression, Lincoln is pissed, not in the entire world that anybody can be so stronger than him, but there are some people that could rival his power.
Like none other than the Captain of the "The Order of the Guiding Light" herself, the bitch Samantha in the Church of Fate in the Kingdom of Goldrose.
And that Draconian named Wave Zhong, the Saintess from the Church of the Midnight Kairos.
But seeing a person who is far stronger than him and seeing his battle capabilities like it was child's play, he couldn't help but feel something that he never felt for so long.
Humiliation.
Feeling this emotion for such a long time brought his anger up beyond human limits.
With an enraged roar, a large 10 meter long Sword of Light brighter and hotter as the Sun itself manifested in front of him and was about to slash at Artemis.
"Fall!" Lincoln ordered, and the giant sword of energy descended.
*BOOM!*
The powerful explosion was accompanied by a shockwave that rocked the entire landscape and raised a cloud of dust. This attack was by far surpassed the level normal Demigods could meddle in!
Moreover, after such a giant sword of light appeared, people in the city and in the imperial army had realized that a demigod was fighting seriously, and angered.
Lincoln furrowed his brows. Despite having hit Artemis with the attack just now, he did not seem happy.
And one second later, the reason appeared. A shockwave of energy in Artemis' location. It then released a powerful current of Argent Energy that blew the cloud of dust away.
With the cloud of dust gone, Artemis appeared once more in front of the northern gates. He was holding his energy swords with both hands, stopping the giant sword of light in its tracks.
"Very powerful-" Artemis commented. He then swung his energy swords calmly as he cut the air with no effort.
One instant later, the Sword of Light was cut into two.
"–but not enough"
Lincoln snorted and waved his hand. Instantly, hundreds upon thousands of light weapons appeared before him.
"{10th tier Light Magic: Weapon Materialization}"

Swords, spears, arrows, sabers, lances. It was a manifestation showing the great power of a much powerful elemental magic known as Light Magic.
Artemis knew what Light Magic is according to the memories he extracted from one of the Council members of the Theocracy since the Infiltration.
From what he learns, Light Magic is a rare magic attribute that allows the user to generate and manipulate light. The magic attribute allows the user to generate and manipulate light at will.
Light Magic has been described as the polar opposite of Dark Magic, and has the most of the magic's fundamental characteristics is its high-speed property, which grants its users the ability to move and attack at Light speed.
Light Magic can be also considered as the fastest elemental type magic, most of the attack spells of it are extremely fast that not even the fastest Non-Demigods in this time could be able to dodge.
Back to the fight, when Artemis saw that, his expression was calm as always. Although each one of these was smaller than the sword of before, Artemis could feel that the magic inside was not a major threat to him.
"Last warning. Surrender now and we can end things peacefully. Otherwise, I'll kill you right there or I will eliminate the people in the city right away." Lincoln sneered but the voice had a sense of coldness that seemed to freeze the air itself.
Artemis narrowed his eyes and rubbed his chin.
"No"
"Wrong choice."
After saying that, he struck his Whips of Light at Artemis.

After evading it, in an instant, Lincoln appeared in front of Artemis. With one Light Sword in each hand, Lincoln stepped on the ground and used it as a fulcrum.
Then, his body spun in a deadly dance of light!
"Interesting," Artemis said with interest. Instantly, he filled his weapon with much power. With a forward slash, he stopped one of Lincoln's light swords.
He scanned the light swords instantly, the light sword Lincoln manifested as hotter and brighter as the Sun. While Artemis and Lincoln aren't affected by the heat, a normal human would instantly die when near the sword of light.
However, Lincoln's second light sword moved at that moment. It created an arc in the air and cut towards Artemis.
Artemis narrowed his eyes. His body took a step back, and the systems inside his body activated. Then, his energy sword intent turned into a barrier that stopped Lincoln's second blade.
Lincoln furiously pulled his blade back. He then leaned his body forward and kicked the air again. With an upward slash, he clashed against Artemis, before kicking the air for a downward slash, upward slash, another vertical slash, and horizontal slash. Lincoln kept repeating it over and over again 300,000 times in a split second.

Each time his blades clashed against Artemis' energy sword, Artemis would kick the air or the ground, continuing his attack in storm-like movements. Both of their movements turned quicker and quicker, soon reaching a point where they were even invisible to a normal Transcendence Demigod's(S-rank) eye.
Only red and yellow lights could be seen moving at godly speed in the sky, while the energy beam in Artemis' hands blasted against Lincoln in a try to break through his defenses.
As Lincoln continues to fight Artemis in his strongest state. He was using every speck of his energy to defeat the Man in Black in front of him.
But not before long one of his swords of light was shattered by Artemis' energy sword.
"Ugh!" Lincoln grunted. He hurriedly tried to counterattack, only to realize that he had fallen in an inescapable net.
Not only were his movements far slower than Artemis, but he also had only one sword to face Artemis' twin swords. In the current situation where he was being pressed by Artemis' attacks, he was quickly losing ground.
But he didn't forget the other magic weapons he had in the air.
Artemis on the other hand was finely calm fighting against him.
Actually, to be honest, while Lincoln was going all-out, Artemis was eventually holding back too much, he could just kill Lincoln with just a bitch slap but he decided he shouldn't rely on one hit K.O most of the time, so instead he decided to give a try to fight seriously a little bit for the first time.
Lincoln was nothing but a fine training doll in Artemis' eyes.
But when he thought that the situation could not turn worse, tens of thousands of Weapons of Light that Lincoln created before lit up.
Damn, I forgot about them.
Artemis looks up. The next second, the Light weapons rained towards him.
Not just that, what makes his situation turn worse is that before the Pope launches the Light weapons at him, he also casted another spell not on Artemis but also the City itself!

Artemis thought. But he needs to deal with it now, of course the weapons won't do much harm to him but if wasting more time, most of the citizens in the city will be killed.

But Artemis has a power beyond a normal demigod. In this situation, he did not panic. Instead, he chooses one amongst of his thousands of weapons inside his system.
Then not before long, his body lit up in a blinding red light.
Then, there was a sword slash, then, all the light weapons both attacking Artemis and the city were cut down by hundreds of holographic swords.

One of the thousands of upgrades he and Caitlyn made, 10,000 energy swords piloted by high-level Artificial intelligence programmed to defend Artemis and offend hostile threats at Faster Than Light speed, it was Caitlyn's idea because she said she watched Artemis when he was human playing a character, also known as the descendant of Dante from a game called 'Devil May Cry: Dark Prince of the End' video game before the worlds goes to shit.
Back to the fight, at the same time, tens of thousands of energy sword phantoms attacked Lincoln. Lincoln opened his eyes wide in panic and immediately crossed his Light swords in front of his chest. At the same time, hundreds of layers of his strongest magic barriers were created simultaneously.

The sharpness of the sword attacks clashed against the barrier, bisecting hundreds of them in a go. Only after more than 500 magic barriers were cut was the power of that sword attack stopped.

Lincoln closed his eyes briefly. When he opened them again, his gaze was filled with coldness.
"Let's go up then. Near the void up there."
Jumping up, Lincoln flew at great speed, reaching near the Stratosphere in a few seconds.
Artemis did not hesitate to follow him, he also prepared if anything the imperial made a move towards the Fortress city, the defenders of the city would defend against them while he still faced Lincoln.
But if something goes bad, he already has built a hidden defensive Drone system in the city walls.
When both of them reached above the clouds, Lincoln stared at Artemis again and readied his stance.
"What is your name, mister? Someone as powerful as me should not be unknown…"
Artemis did not answer him and instead raised his energy blade.
"Do you know? You should surrender even for your own good. Because what I'm going to do is something not even the strongest Demigods in Fordalt could be able to rival him."
Hearing his words, Artemis caught one of his words, 'him', it made Artemis very curious and wanted to see it for himself.
As soon as Lincoln's words sounded, he pulled out a chain crucifix with gold-silver design.

Seeing the artifact, Artemis scans it and what makes him slightly surprised is that the energy fluctuation came from it is immense!
If he said there is a hint of fear within him is completely a lie, because what his inner human emotion feels is something like a Scientist sees a very interesting invention.
And that artifact he is looking at is none other than a World Item.
What he learns, World Items are the most powerful and legendary items in Fordalt. Their origins are a mystery because the knowledge of it was all gone since the Second Great War and they possess massive power that could potentially threaten the balance of the world, thus earning them the term "Balance Breakers."
"Let me introduce one of the most powerful World-items ever known. 'Transcendence of Heaven and Earth'!"
Activating the artifact, the Chain Crucifix suddenly glows in a blinding light!
"Let me introduce you to our lord and savior himself…!
{God's Descend!}
All of the sudden, Artemis' scans felt a much powerful energy fluctuation came from Lincoln in an instant.
Not even a few seconds had passed, flames came out of his body and engulfed the Pope entirely!
Not before long Lincoln's whole figure turns into a huge ball of flames that the sun seems already to have risen, while it was still midnight.
Artemis suddenly felt an incoming danger, without wasting time he sends out dozens of weapons and channels more Argent Energy into his Energy Swords.
His expression turned very serious.
He was floating in the sky several kilometers near the Stratosphere with countless weapons both energy and physical type, and Drones materializing around him.
Right now, he has put his strength in a serious level a little bit.
But despite that, he's not too sure he is confident enough to beat the newcomer in front of him.
[Well.. Well... well… What a perfect coincidence. I was planning the get the monster out of the Elf's body seal and try to capture the Metal Demon leader himself after that idiotic Goddess was killed by some mortal. But now… thank the Godfather that you're also here.] Lincoln, or the entity that possessed said, as his voice seemed to resound in Artemis' mind.
Artemis could not feel his features, only flames. His entire body was covered in blinding flames that burned everything around him.
Lincoln, no…
It was Gleam, the Sun God himself.
And now, he had descended to the mortal realm and faced the Supreme Lord of the Metal Demons. That's what the Sun God called him at first.
"So you're that God of the Sun that I've heard about?" Artemis asks.
[Indeed it is. I was surprised that you're here in the Western Region, far from your kind. But no matter, if you are now here, it is my time to capture you as my slave.] Gleam said indifferently.
"Sorry, but whatever you were planning on using me, I would refuse your offer," Artemis replied, his expression is the same as the Sun God but when you look closely, it looks like Artemis smirks at the deity in front of him.
Hearing the Metal Demon's answer, through the sea of flames, Gleam narrowed his eyes.
[It looks like you misunderstood something. Your opinion is useless. The orders of the Gods are absolute!]
With these words, his intent grows overwhelming as the flames around him become hotter and brighter.
It was as though a second sun appeared in the sky. But unlike the warm light and the original sun, this second sun was filled with violent and raging flames.
Fortunately, Gleam holds his strength a little bit to not kill the Metal Demon, but he expects to injure it heavily in order to weaken it.
When he thought of it, the flames rained on Artemis.
The flames were like a flood that wanted to burn everything, incinerating dozens of kilometers in the air in the process.
If they were still down below, the flames would've destroyed both the city and the imperial army in an instant.
But strangely, the Sun God frowned.
[He's uninjured?]
From the flames, a figure flew out nonchalantly.
He held his Energy sword in his hands that he used to cut the flames into two. Then, he pointed it to the Sun God.
"That's mere Child's play I can describe it," He spoke coldly.
[Arrogant Mortal]
"Get the hell out of my lands, or I'll send you back to God,"
Hearing his words, Gleam, the Sun God fell silent. But then, he chuckled.
However, his chuckle was filled with a burning rage that made the atmosphere tremble.
[It has been quite a long time, probably 1000 years since a mortal dared to threaten me.]
Extending his hands, he summoned a greatsword made of flames that is dozens of times hotter than the center of the Sun itself.
Then, he pointed the greatsword of flames at Artemis.
[Fine… show me how you plan to kill me]

In the sky, 50km below the two powerful beings, were massive Imperial Airship size as an entire football stadium accompanied by ten other massive Airships, a little but smaller compared to the big one at front

Lord Rism looked at the sky with an expression of awe and excitement. Since a while ago, the cloudy sky had been filled with blinding flashes of both red and yellow light, but the most exciting of all is that Demigod Lincoln has finally summoned the Sun God himself.
Before the two began to fight, Rism could feel the heat even though the two were 50km up in the air, it is as if he was at the hottest desert area in the Kingdom of Herldorion.
But aside from that, he just couldn't help but feel excitement, especially that ability Lincoln had used.
{God's Descent}, unlike Martial Arts, Tier Magic, or Wild Magic, this one is neither of them, it includes Divine Arts that a person was given by a Deity with a bit of their power, {God's Descent} is a skill to the most highest ranking members of the Church. It is a skill that a Deity will descend into the mortal body and fully possess it.
However, God's descend is not that easy to perform, it is even far much harder than summoning a High-level Angel or a Primal Elemental. When a deity descended into the body of a believer, it always resulted in the believer dying soon after that. Even a Demigod was destined to die if a Deity descended into him.
There were only a few exceptions to this rule, one of them being Sherene Goldrose, the current Queen of the Kingdom of Goldrose and the Saintess of the Church of Fate. She had a very rare talent called {Soul Vessel} that allowed her recieve the will of her goddess for a short time without fatal consequences.
The second one is Gord Phoenixiol, one of the members of the Papal Scripture, he also has a very rare skill similar to Sherene's {Soul Vessel} but the difference is that the Goddess Gliesia only possesses the mortal but couldn't use her power.
And finally, Pope Lincoln, the Pope of the Rising Sun himself, unlike the other two, instead of a rare skill, he has a World Item called 'Transcendence of Heaven and Earth', a powerful magical artifact that once a deity descended to a mortal body, that mortal wouldn't die from the rule, once the deity left the body the mortal will still be okay.
Wearing the World Item will make anyone completely immune to the rule.
But the only drawback in {God's descent} is that the Deity inside the mortal could only fight 50% of its full power. But 50% is still large enough to take down 30 Sainthood Demigods alone.
Back to the scene, as Rism looks at the second Sun in the sky which the Sun God himself, behind him was a figure wearing a black fedora, black long trench coat, a long collar that even covers his mouth, his long silver hair covers his right eye, and skin is so pale that it is nearly translucent.
He is known as Crow, a very silent man, he is also the bodyguard of Lord Rism and one of the most famous Demon Hunters in the lands, nobody knows his background and no other details were told about him.
But people knew, he is also a member of the Church of the Rising Sun.
As the two watched the view of the two beings begin to fight, four figures landed on the deck of the airship.
It was Wesley.
With him were his other three subordinates restraining Pandora who is knocked out by a sleeping spell by one of them.
"Lord Rism, we got the elf as you said."
"Good, well it's time for the ritual in order to break the seal and wake its slumber, people, where's the artifact like you said? The one that could get rid of the magic seal and woke that creature inside her?" He asked.
"We already have it."
"Very nice, once we control this creature, the Empire would be more powerful. Not just that, I could finally dethrone the current Emperor from his Tyranny for the past 30 years,"
"I also got another news, Lord Rism. Silvanna just suddenly betrayed us"
"Nah, who cares about that bitch anyway. I know she is quite talented, but she is useless most of the time. I thought this time she could be useful."
Forget about the woman, as they were about to go inside the deck of the ship, one of Wesley's subordinates looked at the massive battle in the distance.
"I never knew the strongest Demigod Lord Lincoln would need help from the Sun God, he might have a hard time fighting against that enemy."
"Don't doubt it, Mike. Gleam is a very powerful god, so even if he can't use his entire strength after he descends, he will be much stronger than any Demigod, only beings at the level of SSS-rank can face him. But all of them were extinct 1000 years ago, I don't think there is no one in the world who is able to rival him. So he definitely would win for sure," The other Wesley's subordinates said.
"Yeah, but I got the feeling he won't."
"Calm down, my friend. You're an imperial, and a demigod, I know this is your first time being a demigod when you just transcended just a week ago, but I will assure you that gods are stronger than the world itself. Even a World-item doesn't do much for them. He would surely be okay."
