76.75% Synthetic Survivor: Machine Age(Alternative) / Chapter 141: Writing

Kapitel 141: Writing

With the deal settled, Silvanna stood from the couch and walked towards the balcony.

"So, uhm, don't tell Pandora or anyone else what we discussed today, alright?" Silvanna said.

Artemis nodded and waved his hand, a gesture saying that he was done with her shenanigans and would like her to get the hell out.

Silvanna smiled before she step at the edge of the fence in the balcony, without hesitation she took a step forward

But instead of falling to the ground, she stepped in the air as though she was stepping on an invisible foothold.

Then, she kicked the air.

And flew towards the darkness of the night at Massively Hypersonic Speeds.

Artemis learns that Demigods could naturally fly, even without the use of any spells nor any special techniques, they did it similar to breathing the air.

Impressive.

Including she could easily lessen the sonic boom from her flying, preventing the immense sound to wake up the residents is kinda…

Scary.

But not for Artemis.

In the scene, Artemis then walked towards the balcony and perched over. Looking down on the city below. Silvanna's presence was completely erased, not even his thermal scanner, his xray vision, or any of his advanced eyesight could see where she went.

But with the stunning revelation that Pandora was an elf with a magic seal, Artemis needed to be careful.

If the Imperials themselves didn't want whatever the thing was being sealed inside Pandora set loose, it could only mean that it was powerful and could not be controlled. But for some reason, everytime he was with Pandora, a deep feeling of hatred and vengeance was inside him and his desire to tear her jaws off is on his robotic-human mind, but he naturally ignores it.

"As long as she is of use to me, I shouldn't be bothered if there is something inside her," Artemis whispered to himself.

Artemis did not need to sleep and so he retreated back inside his room and sat near his desk.

The desk was made of fine wood, although it was designed as if it was a luxurious desk, for Artemis, whose standards were too advanced, found the desk appalling. It had too many designs on its surface that made it hard to fully use the desk for writing, drawing, even putting your hand on it was a hassle and was uncomfortable.

Luckily, Artemis did not need comfort.

But the desk was still an inefficient mess for what he was about to do.

He opened one of the drawers and found several pieces of paper, a quill, and a small jar of black ink.

Artemis could instinctively write, he didn't need to learn it. He figured it had something to do with his past, maybe he was a writer of sorts who loved to write back then before all hell went loose.

But there are some few memories he has that he doesn't have any clues what those mean. Some apps called Wattpad or Webnovel and one whose name is Rodeo578, imabread108, Entrail_JI, Aidka, Neobear, bullethell1, or Hackata_48, don't know who those assholes are.

He then grabs a piece of paper over the desk, places the jar of ink on the right and opens it. He then dipped the tip of the quill into the ink and began writing on the paper.

"On this day..." He wrote the first paragraph.

He was exposed to the writings of the officials that once resided here before the revolution and tried his best to mimic their style of writing and the structure and wording.

What he was writing was a proposal of sorts. It was a proposal to force the other villages and towns to move into the City of Diadel and give them manual labor to compensate for their forced migration.

Artemis' plan was to expand the Fortress City beyond its walls and the fields.

The City of Diadel was bordered by some plains to the north and the Forest of Death to the south. Artemis planned on cutting down the forest to the south to make extra farmland since he planned on expanding the Fortress City to the northern plains.

To achieve this, he wanted to recall all the villages under the jurisdiction of the Fortress City to increase the size of its population and the workforce.

Messengers had already been dispatched to the villages a day after the coronation to announce that they were now under the kingship of Wart of the Kingdom of Wartenberg.

So far, the villages seemed to accept Wart's rule.

Although his plans were logical and sought to improve the realm in the long run of things, Artemis knew that he was dealing with humans who, with the lack of a better term, were blind buffoons who couldn't see what the future would be if they just stick with his plans.

Although he could dispatch a sizable force to each village, it would lessen the chances of them fighting back but was also the least efficient way to do things.

Artemis needed the villages back as soon as possible. He and his Fortress City had two weeks before both the Imperial Army and the forces of the Church of the Rising Sun led by Lord Rism and Pope Lincoln will arrive.

"Oh for goodness sake," Artemis noticed his folly.

"I forgot to ask Silvanna more about Lincoln," Artemis whispered and scratched his head.

Without him really noticing, he was now acting more like a human. But he still had a long way to go before he could call himself a synthetic with his humanity restored.

Artemis sighed and continued writing down his proposal. He had decided that he'd just send a large enough force one at a time for each age starting from the nearest one to the west.

He also decided to increase the force once it would start journeying towards the eastern villages due to the fear of monsters attacking.

Talking about monsters, when he, Wart and Pandora traversed the forest, it was surprisingly empty. No birds, wild animals, monsters or magical beasts. Just a lot of grass, insects, and pesky mosquitoes.

Despite looking like a rainforest, it lacked animals that would normally live in it.

Artemis knew something was definitely wrong.

Or maybe he just killed the remaining ones when he traveled through the forest alone after he defeated the goddess and the one time he went on his first visit in the fortress city.

But he has killed 30,000 of magic beasts and monsters in total during his travels at the forest. However, what he has learned about the Forest of Death is that it is filled with over millions upon millions of magic beasts and monsters within it.

The northern side of the forest where he had already travelled is filled with hundreds of thousands of them, and he had only killed just a few tens of thousands, just a mere small fraction of its population.

What he had done so far didn't surpass 20% in the northern part of the forest.

Something is very fishy.

But he had other plans, so he will have to deal with this mysterious problem later.

"Yours truly, Erik," Artemis finished writing his proposal.

He then rolled up the paper and then wrapped the body around with a small rope. He then placed the proposal inside one of the drawers.

He stood up from the desk and came back to the balcony to check on the large city.

Everything was peaceful.

He looked at the barracks that was built right next to a section of the wall and used his thermal scanning to see what the people inside were doing.

He was informed of prostitutes taking advantage of the soldiers during the night but that was before he arrived. After the revolution, prostitutes seemingly vanished.

If Artemis saw anything very unheard of being committed unforgivable acts inside the barracks', he wouldn't hesitate to do a 360 Quick-scope at them from his balcony.
