Kapitel 6: Secret

As Wayne looked at Kenny's body it can be suggested as a chemical burn victim. Welts and rashes all over his body made Wayne smile on the inside to know that he suffered, unlike his friend whom he finished off quickly.

"And there was one little piggy left" Wayne mumbled to himself. He used his skill [Void portal] to appear on the outside of the building. Wayne felt strong and that he can handle anything that came his way, he was high on his own power. After he takes down the leader of this group he would definitely have to thank Zeak for giving him Helgor.

In the distance, Rain could see a figure walking towards him and his eyebrows knitted seeing that it was the kid from a while back. Rain had a few plans forming in his head but first, he had to get answers to figure out his next move.

"Hey kid, how the fuck did you get all the way out here? and what did you do my boys?" Rain let out watching Wayne's figure come within 15 meters of him

Wayne let out a slight chuckle looking at Rain wondering what would be the best method of taking him down. With his power of fire, he has the range advantage besides that he must be strong if he were able to get powered people to follow him.

Rain hearing no response from Wayne decided to go with plan B. "He told me your whole family would be powerless? I would've asked for more money if I knew one of you had powers" with a coy smile on his face he figured this would get his attention.

Wayne stopped in his tracks trying to understand what Rain just said. "Someone hired you guys to kill us?"

Rains grin was bigger than it was before knowing if he could keep him distracted he would be able to kill him in one blow. "Yeah we did, by some big hot shot too, my boys left you to live cause we figured you would've killed yourself after seeing and going through what you did."

Waynes' anger starting to be visible with every word Rain had just told him. "Who was it?" Wayne let out as he was trying to keep it together before his anger boiled over.

"Uhh you'll have to tell me something first and I'd be more than happy to give you the info you need, besides I've already been paid," Rain said while putting his hand behind his back quietly creating a tiny fireball in his hand.

"What do you want to know?"

"Why didn't you use your power when you saw us that day?" this is the real question that was bothering Rain for anybody seeing their loved ones being killed in front of them would do anything in their being to prevent that from happening.

Wayne figured that was a reasonable question so he gave the only answer he could think of, " why don't you ask your employer?" at this point, he figured there was only one person that would've hired him but he still didn't know the reason why.

Rain looked as if he was trying to put pieces together before he sighed "I guess you're no use to me" and at the end of his sentence he threw out a fast fireball towards Wayne's face for who didn't have time to dodge but only activate his skill [Hardened Skin] as an obsidian ooze covered his forearm in a round shield.

BOOM

A resounding sound came from the impact knocking Wayne back into the buildings behind him, he was in pain but with his new stern body, he was able to stand back up with no problems. Now the only thing Wayne thought was how he should not at all cost get hit directly by his attack.

By the time Wayne got up and took a step forward more fireballs came in his direction. using the same skill Wayne clenched his teeth as he tried to hold on and try to find an opening in the midst of the barrage that he was in.

BOOM

With every contact, the shield slowly deteriorated as it couldn't keep up with the constant attacks keeping Wayne in the same place not allowing him to move to cause a lapse in focus that could end his life.

Rain wanted to be sure he was dead this time, not caring how much noise he made and possibly bringing curious onlookers to his position. After he was done, he held one fireball in his hand questioning if he should throw it or not for he didn't want to waste any more energy if he didn't have to.

Wayne noticing the barrages stop instantly activated [Void portal] to go to one of the many buildings so he can quickly recover. The only thing that Wayne could think of is letting Helgor eat a chunk of him but for that, he had to be close to him. Wayne took a deep breath and focused on his next move, his clothes were tattered and singed in different spots showing his coffee-like skin with short jet black hair.

"Shit and here I thought I was strong enough for anything" Wayne chided himself as he saw the task he had to deal with in front of him.

Rain waited for the dust to settle to see if there was any sign that Wayne was dead or on the verge of death itself. The latter was surprised when he was finally able to get a good look through the hole he created that it was clear no bodies, no blood, no Wayne. To say he was shocked would be an understatement for the blast that he was putting out wasn't his full strength but it was enough to finish off most powered people and all humans.

Seeing this Rain had a few questions for his employer whenever he was done with this matter but for right now he still didn't know what power the kid had so he stood patiently in the open so he could see what was going on around him.

"Hey kid, if you didn't know I just turned into a class B powered so you should know that this is futile. If I was to guess you had a late awakening or something and think because you had a little power you could face me?" aha haha you really are sheltered aren't you." Rain sneered, looking at all the surrounding buildings looking for the slightest movements.

Wayne didn't really put too much thought into what Rain was saying cause he already knew he was strong. Wayne was thinking of a plan and got into motion, using [ Void Portal] to hop around the buildings until he reached Kenny's body with his weapons littered around him.

Wayne grabbed a few knives and the short sword that was on Kenny's hip. He donned his newly acquired weapons and traveled to the roof of the building until he saw Rain still standing in the same spot still talking as if he was just going to sit there and listen.

"Here we go." As Wayne threw the first knife and used [Void Portal] as he didn't even look to see if the object hit its target, he did this continuously, looking for the right moment for Rain to be distracted.

Rain seeing the objects coming towards him had his body emit heat melting the knife within a meter of reaching him. Rain looked annoyed as he thought the boy would simply give up after hearing what he said but it's as if he completely ignored him.

Wayne didn't notice the heat barrier that was put up by him also knew he couldn't this up forever so he didn't give up and proceeded with his plan. After two minutes of this Wayne had run out of knives to throw so he got close enough with his next portal to where he can get into range to use [Void Portal]. Wayne was exhausted, for he used so much energy in a short period of time.

He was happy he let Helgor eat earlier or he think he would've been tapped into his energy resources. Since he was ready to get this over with [Death Smoke] was activated and slowly crept out to Rains location who looked at the smoke with curiosity than worry. Wayne crept up using the blanketing darkness for cover.

COUGH COUGH COUGH

Rain began coughing out blood as he got a good inhale of the smoke and knew that he had finished this, he took a quick glance around to see if he could source out where the smoke was coming from but the more time he wasted the thicker the smoke became. He diverted the heat barrier he had around him and gathered two fireballs in each hand starting at the size of a volleyball and going to so a golf ball, he was going to just wipe the whole place down at this point for he didn't have any more time to play cat and mouse.

Before he could finish charging the energy for his attack Wayne finally got into range and activated and used his last remaining strength to lunge forward as fast as he could latching his hand on Rain's neck letting Helgor have his way.

As Rain had the look of shock for the pain paralyzed him where he stood making things easier for Wayne.
