Kapitel 8: Chapter 8:

It's been nine weeks since I woke up from my comatose state,

And I am finally ready to be reintegrated into the pack.

I dragged myself out of bed and quickly handled my business.

I have been in charge of breakfast in the house for over a week now as part of my plans to convince my mom, that I am ready to get back to work in the pack.

Did I think of running away, far away from this goddess forsaken pack?

Yes, yes and yes, soooo many times, that I even began to fantasize about it.

But fairytales are not for me, never were, never will be, truth is I can only afford a daily dose of reality.

If I leave the pack, run away and leave my parents behind, they would be executed for my actions.

If I take them with me, we will all become rogues and that is only a possibility, if we are successful in running away in the first place.

I mindlessly flip the pancakes and check up on the steak.

I am dressed already in jeans and an oversized t-shirt, the jeans is tied tightly at my waist by a cloth belt.

I'd suddenly lost an unforeseen amount of weight and getting all that weight back is close to impossible. Not with a stack of ten pancakes and steak for a family of three werewolves.

One delta eats more than ten stacks of pancakes for breakfast in the pack house, or in their home. So we are basically starving, mostly because of me, since mom hasn't been working it's been difficult to survive on dad's pay alone.

But all that would change and become a little better, as mom and I will be resuming our duties today.

After breakfast, we walk as a family in silence, holding hands.

Father leaves at the back entrance of park house, and heads straight to the training ground.

"Oh thank the goddess, you are alive.

I am so happy to see you and your mom, back to work."

"Aly!!! so glad to see you on your feet, hale and hearty."

"So glad to have you back, Aly."

Frod and other omega servants gathered for a minute to greet us as we entered the kitchen.

They were truly happy and excited to see me, but I noticed the curious stares, the odd looks and the questionable glances.

Being an omega, means I am not the tallest of wolves, but I am one of the tallest omegas in the pack at five feet five inches.

I was blessed with beautiful honey brown hair, that used to almost reach my waist.

But mother cut it to shoulder length when I was in a coma. I have always been thin, but now I am rail thin, really just skin over skeletons, with my hip bone jutting out to show my curves.

It is stupid really no one wants curves if it's all frail and boney. Although, I think I am pretty enough, no one will look at me twice in this pack, omega servant and all.

My eyes have always been blue, the cerulean type, but when I woke up from my comatose state, one eye had turned grey.

Mum and dad were shocked to see it, I just shrugged and told them I had no idea why or how one of my eyes changed color.

I really don't know what happened to my eye.

How could I?, I was in a coma for a really longtime.

But soon those who hate me and despise my kind, would begin to call me a freak amongst other despicable things, they already call me.

But I would have to ignore them as usual, no matter what they say or do.

I heard Frod ask mom about it, but she told him, she didn't know what happened.

I was really glad, that so far there has been no drama, I haven't set my eyes on the devil himself and there is no need to get tangled with any titled wolf on my first day back.

An hour later, Frod was summoned.

He returned twenty minutes later.

"Alyssa." He called for me

" Yes sir Frod." I answered as I ran towards him.

The Alpha and Luna says you are banned from ever working in or entering the pack house."

You will now join Ethos and his group, your main priority is the grounds around the pack house.

And the homes of other titled wolves who do not live in the pack house.

I nodded my head obediently and stepped out of the pack house.

It did feel surreal, that this is happening, as much as I'd like to ask why, I highly doubt they would have explained their decision to Frod.

I waited for some time before an omega approached me.

He was from Ethos's group, they handled the heavy lifting and did the hardest jobs in and around the pack.

"Aly?" He asked

I nodded and the corner of his lips lifted slightly with the hint of a smile as he cocked his head to the side and said.

" Follow me."

We walked till we reached the outskirts of our pack.

"Ethos is just beyond that outpost."

He said and left me standing alone.

I took in a deep breath, it felt like the forest was calling out to me.

I made up my mind to shift tonight.

I needed to let reign out for a run, I'd been promising her for sometime now.

I bent down and flattened my palm on the ground. The cool gentle breeze whispered lowly as they sped past me, tempting me to just let go and bask in the cooling temperature, Change into my wolf, let her take over and just run, with the gentle breeze feeling its way through my fur, as I whipped through the forest and land at top speed.

A loud whistle, pulled me out of my reverie. I stood up and quickly rushed to the outpost.

Ethos was waiting for me.

Ethos was old, he'd been doing this since before I was born.

"Sorry sir ethos, for keeping you waiting, I got carried away."

"Yeah, I noticed." He said, then stared at my eyes for a bit before asking.

"You wouldn't have an explanation for the sudden difference in your eye color now, would you?"

I shook my head no, while biting down on the inside of my cheek.

"Alright then, I'll assume your eyes are the reason you're here. Welcome to the pack's castaways. Today you will be shown your new duties, you will observe and learn as fast as you can, because tomorrow you will begin work in earnest. Come with me." He said

I nodded my head and followed him out.

"Aly, this is Martha, she is your cleaning team lead, it's a group of ten, now eleven."

"Hello Alyssa, welcome back. come along with me and I'll show you all you need to know."

Martha said with a beaming smile, she looked almost as old as Ethos. But she was beautiful despite her obviously stressful life.

I got home later than everyone, mum and dad were waiting for me in the living room.

" Hi mum, Hi dad good evening."

"Welcome home sweetheart, how was you first day outside the pack house?" mom asked straight away.

As good as I can get. I replied with a smile on my face. Dad hugged me and said goodnight.

While, mum reheated my dinner for me and watched me eat it all, while rolling my eyes at her for her behavior.

" You are sickly thin, and until a little more color returns to your skin, I would ensure you eat all you can." Mom said with worry in her eyes.

The last thing I wanted to make her worry about me again, so I quickly finished my meal.

Once I was done, mum went to bed.

I did too.

But for me, it was one day down a million demanding ones to go.

I didn't like being with the castaways, but it was better than being thrown out on my a*s.
