Kapitel 26: An Attempted Heist - IV

Jade turned around at the noise of multiple footsteps and one woman was screaming in particular. She almost winced at the loud voice.

In front of her a mass of people, a crowd of twenty people or so, all of them with members of the pack, and almost ten to fifteen of them held torches in their hands lit with fire.

They were going to burn her alive. What a dramatic way to end her life...

Jade glanced at the woman leading the crowd, taking one step back defensively. The woman simply stared at her before she broke off in a sprint.

Her eyes followed the movement of the woman who started to change her direction slightly and altered it towards the little child. The second she reached the child, she immediately picked her up in her arms.

The baby cried at the touch but Jade could see how it clung on to the woman. This woman was something to the child, and even the little puppy was familiarised with the touch because it calmed down instantly.
