Kapitel 170: What Did I Get Into?

Lexy sat in the back of the SUV, listening to Abi and Mark with a confused look on her face.

"Mark, I'm not one of your staff."

"No, you're my sister."

"Yeah, your grown sister who works a full-time job and carries a full load in school. I will not be your sitter as well."

"But you love Mikey, and I'll pay."

"Mom told you adopting him was a bad idea. You work what? Sixty hours a week on average? When do you have time to parent a growing boy?"

"He's better off with me than where he was."

"Not if you neglect him. Take him to work with you. Make him the club mascot."

"I think the health inspector might have a problem with that."

"Your problem."

"I need you. Please. Pretty please?" Mark begged so sweetly while navigating like a madman through traffic. 

Lexy considered relocating just to help with the boy. Poor child. A heartless aunt and a neglectful father. Sadly, it reminded Lexy of her own childhood a bit.
