Kapitel 36: A Loss of Control and an Awakening (1/2)

Rowan followed the pull of the summons, surprised when it led him to Ciprian's private residence instead of the reception hall as usual. He knocked on the door and waited for Ciprian's command to enter. It never came, but his Master's demand jostled around in his head, stronger than ever.

Rowan pushed back on the magic in an attempt to alert Ciprian of his presence and knocked again. He stood on the doorstep for awhile, pulling up violets with his magic in the grass next to the stairs, even though as far as Rowan was concerned, Ciprian didn't deserve something pretty in front of his house.

There was no sense in leaving. He wouldn't have his head to himself until Ciprian was satisfied.

When the squeeze of the summons morphed into a jab of pain behind his eyes, Rowan tried the front door, surprised to find it unlocked. He called out into the empty room. "Master Ciprian. I'm here."
