Kapitel 9: FIRST STEPS
As the shinigami left, the carriage began moving at a high speed; it was surprising at how fast it was going,' the horse's speeds here in this verse mused be enhanced because of reishi'; I looked back at katamuku as he began to lay down on the carriage floor.
"Well, seems it'll be awhile. Wake me up when food arrives"
"I'm not your servant"
Katamuku answered "yeah sure.." as he began shutting his eyes
I sighed 'I'll have to learn his techniques someday, even though he's sleeping I can sense that he's alert and can get up at any disturbance' even just looking at his body I could see that it was well-trained and fit, although I've been training for the whole week that I've been in this world for, little to no progress has been made on my physique, I'm super strong but my body looks below average in terms of aesthetics, I mean I'm technically 11 so it'll get better when I'm older
After a while of just sitting, I could sense somebody looking at me. I looked to the side of the carriage and saw that it was the 2 black-haired twins. They both stood up and began walking toward me.
"Hello friend, I'm daki aku, and this is my brother baki aku. He doesn't talk to anyone but me, so please don't be offended if he doesn't talk back"
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Well, I already told you I'm da-' I quickly interrupted
"I heard you the first time. What do you guys want?"
Daki answered "well, you see, you seem very interesting I and my brother would like to know your name" he said with a smile, I was still confused as to why he came here,' damn seems like I bring a lot of attention to myself I need to learn katamuku's, presence hiding technique'
"Oh well, daki and baki, nice to meet you. My name is ryo"
"Ryo, may I have your surname"
Hearing him say that brought back some memories from the past. When I was back in my other world, I had loving parents, although I barely remember anything about them; I knew they loved me a lot, but one day they left the house burning away every document and picture that they had; they drove me in front of a police station late at night and ordered me to stay there after that they left, this all happened when I was just three it was a few days later that they were found dead deep underwater with their faces and bodies disfigured, turns out they were unidentified immigrants, they had no surname in the government's registration system, therefore; I didn't have one, all my life even though all the 3 guardians I've had, I never took their surnames I decided to stay with just ryo the only name my parents had given me I decided to answer daki by giving him a fake surname.
"Well, it's ryo za"
Both twins slightly bowed. "thank you ryo za for sharing your name. If you don't mind, could you tell me the name of your friend? He seems to be even more special than you"
They instantly put me on guard.
' I knew it. Those twins are strange. How could they sense? katamuku. Even though he's close to me, I still have to try hard to notice him.'
"Sorry I can't tell you, you'll have to ask him yourself "
The twins brows furrowed but quickly turned to normal "well either way thanks anyway me and my brother will consider asking your friend for his name" they said as they began walking back to their spots, I turned back to look at katamuku, this time I wasn't looking at his body I tried to see how he was hiding his presence 'damn I can't understand how he's doing it' I stared at his body but I still couldn't figure it out
'Guess I'll have to take the risk.'
I carefully began focusing on the reishi around him, and that's when I realized how his technique worked 'the reishi around him aren't touching his body looking closely they are around his body, but they aren't in contact with him or his clothes, so his body is pushing out the reishi around him so it makes it hard for people to sense him unless he's right in their faces, this is quite simple, I can see how only most shinigami can notice him since they are at high alert and have great reishi sensitivity, this is similar and different to me hiding my reishi presence I'm making my reishi dense and compacting it to make it seem smaller while he's also shaping his but making sure it is surrounding him but not contacting his body allowing his reishi to mix with its surrounding but making him seem invisible… no more like he's a space'
I realized that this has a lot of potential 'this technique is quite good, although I now understand its mechanics it might be hard to do, if I master this I could essentially be invisible in battle like a ghost, shinigami require reishi, and spiritual pressure when fighting it's their eyes if I'm blind to them then I can quite literally win most battles against people even stronger than me, it's like fighting something then doesn't exist ' I was almost trembling at the thought of the things I would be able to accomplish with this technique
I closed my eyes to relax, I could hardly wait to try this but II knew I had to wait although katamuku is 'sleeping' he's still alert and would be able to sense my presence disappearing if it works, the only reason he hasn't gotten up yet is that I only sensed the surrounding reishi and not his if I tried he'd notice it instantly 'seems, for now, I'll have to keep my thoughts to myself
The carriage stopped a few minutes later, one of the shinigami from before opened up the door arriving with plates filled with food he walked and starting giving people dishes. I woke up katamuku
"Yawn…. Is it time to eat ryo"
"Yeah," I said as the shinigami handed me our plates. Katamuki started slobbering.
He held his hands together and said "itadakimasu" before proceeding to completely abolish the food, although I was hungry I stared at the food before eating to make sure it was safe, the dish contained 2 dumplings, salmon fish rice, and fried eggs on the side with soy sauce on top of it, just like katamuku did I immediately dug in, it only took a few seconds for the bowl to be licked clean
'"Jeez ryo you are even a fast eater"
I nodded my head while burping. A few minutes later, everyone else was done. The shinigami entered again and took the bowls. Before he left, he said,
"We will be entering at shinho academy in 30 minutes, so prepare yourselves"
Katamuku again said, " well wake me up again when we get there "
I didn't bother refuting his words, I closed my eyes to think 'once I get to shinho academy I think there are dorms so I won't have much privacy but since there's a courtyard I can always train by myself I was hyped to go to the academy but I was more excited to explore soul society, I didn't read the light novels but I still know the gist of what happens in them but I wanted more info and connections so it would be good to explore, plus it'd be fun.
Also, I still didn't know the timeline so reaching the academy ill know which captains are in my seat, and ill be able to learn what timeline I'm in,' I hope I'm not in the future ' for the rest of the ride I was making plans and thinking of techniques, finally, 30 minutes arrived, I opened my eyes as the shinigami came in
"Everyone welcome to shinho academy " he moved outside to show us a better view of the place it was spectacular it was white with golden roofs, what even shocked me more was its size just the entrance was this big but I could see there were even more buildings that made up the academy,
As everyone got up, I woke up katamuku
"Guess it's time to go," I said as every one of us got out of the carriage as I stepped out. I knew that I'd achieve my goal, 'I WILL BE THE STRONGEST' .... TO BE CONTINUED.

Finally, after 10 chapters, we've reached the academy. I consider this to be the official start of this story. Hope you guys like this chapter too🙂
