The skill book ended up selling for 700 gold, completely blowing away the second-highest selling item of 200 gold. A few more insignificant objects were sold without Marcus partaking in them until the fifteenth item was brought out:

"300!"

"350!"

"400!"

Marcus issued his first bid at this point.

"450 gold from VIP Room 1!" The announcer shouted. This sparked a lot of conversation amongst the players, as no one had heard about a VIP booth until now. After a moment, the crowd died down, and the bidding resumed.

"500!"

"550!"

Marcus frowned but bid again, causing the hostess to repeat his amount in an announcement:

"600 from VIP Room 1!"

However, this time, no one gossiped amongst themselves as it was immediately outbid.

"650!"

"750 from VIP Room1!" The announcer shouted, causing some hushed words to fill the event hall as it was the first time a non-minimum bid was placed.
