He said, "Why are you staring at me?"
WHAT!?
He's the one staring at me now, and he's asking me that?
"What do you mean?" I inquired, "I should be the one asking you that." I had no notion this individual was Adelle's perfect friend. He's a strange guy.
"Why?" he naively inquired, "because you're the one who looks at me first."
I'll try to keep my patience under control now.
I pointed at him and said, "You're the one, I saw you gazing at me."
He said, "Do you have any proof?"
WTF!?
I just stated, "I can sense you were gazing at me earlier."
He just responded, "I didn't."
"Then how do you know, I looked at you just now?" I said and crossed my arms.
"Because you look at me. that's why"
Okay enough, since I'm older than him...spiritually. I'm going to let it slide. it's not going to hurt me just because he's gazing at me.
"Okay, geez...this is nonsense," I stated while looking out the window. I'm not going to get worked up about a minor issue. I need to take a deep breath and release the stress that I've been absorbing while reading that diary. I let out a deep sigh and leaned against the window, my chin resting on my hand.
The town is large, and it will most likely take some time to find that man, or, in the worst-case situation, he may have died because Adelle mentioned he appeared sick.
"What's the problem?" I flinch as he asks abruptly. This time, I didn't look at him.
"Nothing," I simply said.
We spend the entire ride in the carriage without speaking to each other until we get to town. I observe a lot of people busily looking at the stalls. Wow, there appear to be a lot of accessories here; I'll have Kaniz choose what she likes later. I stood up to open the door as soon as the carriage came to a halt, and I shuddered as he attempted to open it as well. We touched hands, and I looked at him.
I noticed his emerald green eyes staring at me. When he looks at me, it's as if he can read my mind. I swallow and gaze at his rosy lips; he's saying something but I'm not sure what it is. I'm simply staring at his lovely face.
Wait, what?
"Lady Adelle?" he said.
"Ah, huh? what is it?" I asked him innocently, I'm becoming a child abuser right now.
"How long do you intend to hold my hand?" he inquired solemnly. Oh, that's right...
"I didn't hold your hand. you just step in so suddenly when I'm about to open the door." I said and let go of his hand.
"Lady, I'm a man; I'm supposed to do that," he smirked. "Unless you're the sort of domineering lady," he remarked as he opened the door and exited the carriage. Even his back is attractive. I see his ear has gone red. what? Is he blushing right now?
A dominant woman? yes, I am.
I was ready to exit the carriage when he stretched out and offered his hand to lead me. I stare at him, perplexed.
"Even though you're a domineering woman, I'm still --" he didn't complete what he was saying as I exited the carriage on my own. Dare you to gaze down on me? I don't require your assistance. Even Adelle regards you as a friend, but I am not.
"Thanks. but I don't need assistance from you." I said and turned my back on him. I thought he didn't want to be friends. A strange guy, indeed. I look for Kaniz "Kaniz, let's go." we have a lot to do. I must find that man.

"But Milady, what do you want to buy?" Kaniz said as we passed by the stalls. I didn't even get to look at the things and accessories they were selling. I just glance at the merchants' faces at each stand.
"Ah, Kaniz…I'll give you gold and go spend it on yourself, buy things that make you happy," I said while looking at the merchant's faces one by one.
"Milady, what if you got lost again?" she asked. how can I lose my way? when someone who has been following us for an hour can be my guide.
"Don't worry, I can take care of myself, go on, enjoy and have fun," I responded, and she hesitated to go. We parted ways, and now that I think about it, I'm glad we did. I glance at the faces of the merchants strewn around. I'm not sure if he's elderly, middle-aged, or young.
My only lead is that he appears to be ill. I can't seem to concentrate since this young man is following me. I come to a halt and turn back.
When I gaze at him, he flinches.
"What?" he said. what? don't tell me he's going to accuse me again of something he did.
"What? why are you following me?" I asked and stared at him and he looked away.
"I'm not following you; I'm here to purchase something," he responded, turning away from me. When I glance around, I see that the items and accessories in this section are solely for women. I couldn't help but raise my brow to the left. He said he didn't want Adelle with him, and now he's clinging to me.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm simply here to buy my sister a present. By the way, your ages are the same," he continued, his cheeks flushed. Okay, maybe I just simply assume he's following me.
"Okay. then let's part our ways." I said and continued to walk. I turn my back again and look at him. "...and don't try to follow me this time," I warned him and walked away.
*************
I've been walking for what seems like an eternity and have yet to come across any merchants who appear to be ill. wait...why didn't I consider that maybe he's OK now and has received treatment!? I'm as stupid as ever.
As I looked around the bustling town square, my heart sank. There were so many people, a sea of faces blending together, making it nearly impossible to find the man I was searching for. The hopelessness washed over me, threatening to drown my determination.
I weaved through the crowd, my eyes scanning every face, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. But each passing moment only deepened my despair. How could I find him in this chaotic maze of strangers?
The noise of the town square seemed to grow louder, overwhelming my senses. Laughter, chatter, and the sound of merchants calling out their wares filled the air. It was as if the world around me was mocking my futile search.
"Young girl, come and see what you want," the merchant, an elderly guy, invited me into his shop. He appears to be elderly and in poor health. I went up to him and had a look at the products and accessories he was offering.
A lot of artifacts... yes! that's right I just have to search for someone who's selling creepy artifacts.
"Young lady, choose whatever you like, I'll give you a discount," he said. I look at him in the eyes and he smiled at me. he didn't recognize me? maybe he wasn't the one whom I looking for. I smile at him and am about to walk again but
"Huh? Wait did I see you somewhere? I feel like you're really familiar." what he said widened my eyes. I look at him and hold his hand.
"Excuse me, but do you know me?" I asked him so suddenly. he looked shocked. I didn't let go of his hand.
"Um. lady...calm down--" I didn't let him finish.
"Yes? do you remember? are you still selling some creepy artifacts? do you remember me?" I asked but he was about to answer my inquiries but, a sharp sword suddenly pointed at his throat.
"Let go of her." a cold and scary voice. I gasped as I saw, who's the one who pointed out the sword.
This idiot.
