Kapitel 39: Preparation for the Ball

Preparation for Iris' coming of age ceremony continued in full swing. The entire Kenworthy duchy was filled with chatters of servants. 

After visiting the palace for the first time, Iris and Vanessa became close friends. While she was struggling to cope with her surroundings due to her memory loss, Princess Vanessa's company was like a ray of sunshine on a cold winter day. 

Vanessa too didn't have many friends in the high society due to her cousin. Scarlett always made sure to isolate her from making connections for some reason. With her own mother on her cousin's side, she couldn't help but remain lowkey and docile. Well, her mother didn't like her and only cared about gaining more power. For someone like her mother who treated people as her chess piece, her daughter was also no exception.

So finding a genuine person like Iris was like a blessing in disguise for Vanessa.
