"Who am I then?" He asked, and the answer couldn't process in her head. Tristan knew she couldn't express herself with words and he was upset that she didn't think that the man her parents were talking about could be him. 

So technically, she was expecting the man to be someone else and the more he was reminded about her thoughts, he felt unsatisfied, uneasy and angry at himself and at her. 

"Tristan, you are my..."

"You see, never mind about it," he cut her off and slowly pushed her off him gently. 

Now that he was upset, she felt bad and watched as he walked away to continue putting together the tent. 

Liliana didn't know why she wanted to scold herself for not acknowledging his feelings but still, she didn't think that the man her parents were talking about was him.
