Charlotte explained coldly, with a clear gaze, "Whether it was my fault or not, I believe someone here knows it better than me." A hint of resentment flashed in Lily McKenzie's eyes as she leaned against Mrs. Thomas with a pitiful look.
Mrs. Thomas snorted coldly and looked at Charlotte with disapproval. With just a few words, she managed to put the blame on her daughter. Truly a cunning tongue.
"Are you saying my daughter ruined your clothes on purpose and deliberately slandered you? How is that possible? My daughter is a kind-hearted child. Don't try to vilify her, it's just too much!"
Mrs. Thomas looked angrily at Charlotte and saw her wronged daughter, so she pulled Lily behind her protectively.
"That's the truth, and I'm not lying." Mrs. Thomas glared at Charlotte angrily as she did not apologize. The atmosphere in the room became quite awkward.
