Kapitel 51: Lassi Village
Everyone in the ghost party was eager to know the alias Lin Cian would select. William called himself the 'troubling ghost'. He doesn't mean any troublemaking but being trouble for the enemies. He asked the opinion of Lin Cian. For which Lin Cian replied
"You are indeed a trouble maker" while laughing.
"You..." he wanted to fight Lin Cian but stopped himself because he know many eyes are watching. William was not the type to fight for trivial things but he was playful towards Lin Cian. Even Lin Cian was playful towards William because he knew how much does William values him. So Lin Cian always respected and was silly towards him.
"Troublesome ghost..... you? haha... That's a good name... You can follow me from now on... I will be your..."
"You? No way... William you will follow me right?"
It was Wei Lin and Darius. They also fought with each other like the newcomers. William found himself to be in a creepy situation.
"Fine fine… that's enough," said Aveda which made them stop pestering William. "Sorry for troubling you," she said to William with a smile. William made a short laugh and slightly bowed at her.
'His name is indeed suitable to him. He is so annoying' thought the newcomers. After a while of hassle and puzzle, everyone turned towards Lin Cian. He wondered, suddenly what makes him a center of attention. After an awkward moment of staring at others, Lin Cian came to his senses when he heard someone clearing their throat.
"Did you choose your alias?" a female yet graceful voice resounded towards Lin Cian. It was June who was very curious about his alias.
"Hmm... what about... no... Foolish Ghost?" he said with deep thinking about it. But no one expects such a coincidence.
June's face became pale and she became nervous. Harry who joined them out of nowhere was also got shocked while the others were looking at Lin Cian with their jaws dropped. Lin Cian could understand that but he felt he had enough because they were seeing him as a person who he wasn't.
"Is the name already taken?" Lin Cian asked them in a mild tone with a confused look.
"That one..." Aveda started to speak but someone came between.
"No" June hurriedly answered him. "Now it belongs to no one" she continued.
"Now?... Do you mean... someone had it before?"
"You can have it," she said with a smile but Lin Cian could see that she was hiding something and he also guessed it but decided not to ask her.
Then the senior members of the party approved to take them for their mission. Their mission was to hunt a group of wild beasts at the end of the borderland. Lassi was a village at the end of the borderland. In recent days the attacks from the wild beasts were very often and there were many causalities. So they decided to seek help from the officials but the officials just posted a mission on the 'blue moon' and shifted the responsibility towards the hunters. This mission was chosen by Aveda Liz the leader of the ghost party the 'killing ghost'.
It was twilight. A group of seven people was rushing towards Lassi village. One with a hat, one with a spear, one with a curved sword, one with a long sword, one with a hammer, one with a staff, and one with no arms. They rushed towards the village but when they reached the village what they saw stopped their heart from beating for a second.
They saw blood, blood, and blood. No matter where they look, what their eyes saw was the red fluid was poured across the roads, the walls of the small huts, and the trees. But the source of the reddish color was missing. The whole village was lifeless but bloody.
June was almost on the verge of her breakdown. She seems to remember something similar to the things she encountered in the village. Also, the other members of the party including the newcomers became very angry towards the scene they saw.
Lin Cian started to run away from the place because it was his first encounter with this kind of scene. Even though he has seen so many bloody scenes he wasn't ready for this moment. He was prepared enough to be an adventure but that wasn't enough for him.
William chased him to the border of the village until Lin Cian fell to his knees. He was puking up like a sick man. William came near him and rubbed his back without saying anything. The others also came to them in case something happens. No one shall act without the order of the leader of the group but Lin Cian broke it. But Aveda didn't care about it but the well-being of Lin Cian. Everyone knew the place is dangerous and the more they are together the more the chances are to survive. Additionally, no one wants to lose their newcomers in their first mission. Do they?
William turned his head towards the others but to his surprise, he didn't see them being disgusted but concerned. They were very cautious and were standing on guard around the newbies. Lin Cian was staggering to move, his face was pale and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. He felt like he was very desperate. He was breathing heavily.
No one lowered their guard to face him. They were around him and facing away from him in guarding position and scanning the surroundings for movements.
"Randell are you ok?" The leader of the party inquired in a quiet tone.
"He seems to be....."
"I am sorry... Give me a minute" said Lin Cian not letting William speak.
No one belittled him but they were concerned about him. Once they heard Lin Cian speak they felt at ease but it was not the time to be at ease because a blink of carelessness can kill everyone. William helped Lin Cian stand. Lin Cian started to speak but before he could speak a piece of cloth came near his mouth and wiped the puke near his lips.
June wiped his lips and that made Lin Cian feel a little uneasy. When she understood that she made a sigh and smiled at him. She then took a step back from him and looked at him. Lin Cian saw the face of her husband but he just smiled at Lin Cian. Lin Cian was confused but he have to act for the things happening in the surrounding area.
He slightly bowed to June to express his gratitude with a smile. He then turned towards William who was a little confused and nodded at him indicating that he is alright.
"I know where they are," said Lin Cian in a calm way while panting.
