Archer's POV

"How could you do that to her, dad? To us? You know how much I love Ella; I never felt that kind of emotion toward anyone. You didn't have any idea how painful it was for me when she broke up with me. I was lost, devastated, and alcohol became my only refuge during those times since I wanted to forget her even for a while." I said to my father, and he wanted to get up from his bed, but I could see he was having a hard time getting up.

I could see the frustrations on his face as I realized Carlos, the strict and authoritative man who once thought he could play the world with his fingers because of his wealth and connections, had lost his power because of his sickness. I felt angry with him, but as I looked at him struggling, I was lost for words to describe how I felt for my dad anymore.
