Kapitel 5: Chapter 5 - I have a friend...

The man swallowed and said, "What do you want to know?"

Quinn could see the guy was obviously afraid of him, more afraid of Cramorant- but it works either way. He had never dealt with a situation like this before he crossed, but he's seen enough TV to play this role with ease.

Quinn asked blankly, "What region is this?"

The man looked at the young boy in front of him, thinking of the terrible scene just now, and honestly replied, "The Hoenn region..." paused, and added, "This is the Rustboro forest west of Rustboro City."

Quinn secretly breathed a sigh of relief in his head. The other party did not seem to be the kind of person who would rather die than expose anything. He continued to interrogate.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Takehara, I'm a Pokémon Hunter."

Pokémon Hunters, a criminal organization that captures wild Pokémon for underground markets and trading. Unlike the Team Magma, which aims to expand the land, Pokémon Hunters are only in it for the money. In the words of his previous world, they're the poachers of the Pokémon world.

With enough money, these guys will go after anything- even dangerous Dragon types. Thinking about the auction mentioned by the woman on the high-tech walkie-talkie, they were probably trying to kidnap the Ralts and sell it off.

It may just be luck, but crime had always kept its distance from Quinn. Now, encountering it for the first time, he didn't know how to deal with these two Pokémon Hunters.

After thinking about it for a while, Quinn finally asked, "How long does it take to get to Rustboro City from here?"

Takehara didn't know exactly what Quinn was thinking about, but he was reasonably sure that Quinn was probably thinking about how to deal with them. He swallowed and replied: "Walking... it takes two hours to walk there..."

"Yeah." Quinn nodded. It seemed that the direction the Skwovet was pointing was right. Quinn stood up and began to grab all of his belongings, including the new things 'willingly given' by the Pokémon Hunters.

Takehara watched as the other party put his wallet, ferry ticket, and Pokéball into his bag, his eyes widened as he said, "Hey! That's my stuff!"

Quinn glanced at him and said with a faint smile: "Your Mightyena hurt me. These things are used as compensation for medical expenses and harm to my mental state."

Takehara was stunned, he's only used to robbing others. He's never been robbed himself! He almost tried to argue, but when he saw the foolish-looking Cramorant, he changed his mind quickly.

Quinn didn't say much, he just packed his things and prepared to leave.

Seeing Quinn turn around to leave, Takehara panicked and yelled, "You can't leave us here!" At night they'll be torn to pieces by wild Pokémon!

Quinn responded, "Relax, someone will come to rescue you."

'Such matters should be dealt with by the police.' he thought.

After speaking, regardless of the man's reaction, he turned around and left.

Maybe it was because he was approaching the periphery of the forest, but the Pokémon ecology has changed. Those Pokémon with larger bodies and aggressive personalities have disappeared. Pokémon like Caterpie and Weedle, which are less aggressive are now much more common.

Quinn walked along, occasionally observing some Pokémon with his cheat.

As he went, Quinn understood the reason why there were not a lot of trainers in this world. Because the journey is so difficult!

Most trainers start their journey at the young age of 10. At this age with insufficient social experience and survival expertise, it's really more a question of how long can they survive?

Many people who aspire to become trainers end up missing home, or find hardships on the way trying to challenge the gyms. After all that, out of the handful of people who face the challenges and participate in the Pokémon league, only a few actually stand out. The road is tortuous, but the future of those who make it through is bright.

Two hours later, Quinn finally walked out of the dim forest. Looking at the open road and the world full of light in front of him, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Finally!" he shouted, getting some looks from those nearby.

At the entrance of the forest, there is a warning sign, "Please bring your Pokémon with you inside the forest."

Quinn raised his bag and took a deep breath, looked back at the pedestrians on the side of the road, and was excited for the start of his journey.

The excitement made him forget the exhaustion of rushing on the road and he soon arrived at Rustboro City by following the instructions of the wooden signs on the side of the road.

Standing on the lively street, watching the scene where the people and Pokémon coexist in harmony, at this moment, he felt it was so beautiful he almost cried.

He was very hungry and tired, but time matters. Quinn shook himself awake and asked someone the location of the nearest police station. The passers-by did not dislike his dirty and tired self, but enthusiastically said, "Are you a trainer? Go to the Pokémon center and have a good rest!"

'Trainer? I'm not a trainer yet...'

Quinn suddenly realized that he's probably illegally holding a Pokémon without having an identity. Quinn had a headache. Saying thank you and bidding farewell to the passerby, Quinn went to the police station and told Miss Jenny the news that Pokémon Hunters had appeared in the forest.

Miss Jenny worked very fast. After determining the rough location, she directly left on a black and white police three-wheeled motorcycle and disappeared at the end of the road with her Growlithe.

Not long after, she took the two crying men to jail smoothly.

After verifying the situation, another Miss Jenny who was in charge of the interrogation thanked Quinn.

'Is that all?' Quinn thought, disappointed. He thought he might get an award for reporting them.

Before leaving the police station, he asked the same Miss Jenny: "If I lost my ID card, where should I replace it?"

"Are you a trainer?" she asked.

Quinn isn't yet, but he can pretend to be one. So he nodded.

Miss Jenny thought he had just lost his Pokédex, and didn't think much about it, saying, "You don't need one reissued to participate. You only need to show the badges you collected from the gym circuit to participate in the league tournament."

Quinn understood, in this world it seems that only the children of the alliance's lineage and people with big identities can get a Pokédex. The holder of a Pokédex bears the responsibility of helping the local professors collect information on wild Pokémon, and are also entitled to use the facilities of the Pokémon centers free of charge. Other civilian trainers do not enjoy this treatment, they go to the Pokémon center, it costs money.

Quinn paused, then asked, "What about ordinary people?"

Miss Jenny confusedly asked, "What do you mean?"

"I have a friend who has lived in seclusion with his parents in the forest since he was a child, and he has never left the forest."

Miss Jenny understands now, the situation of Quinn isn't like she thought before, she has heard about human beings being raised by Pokémon before.

She thought for a while and replied, "It's simple, you just ask his parents to accompany him to the police station for identity registration, and we will upload their information to the database.

Quinn asked, without showing any emotion, "What if his parents passed away?"

Miss Jenny replied earnestly, "Then he can only do it by himself."

If I update a chapter it probably means I'm finally figuring out what something means or else, such as Orange City - Rustboro City. If you notice anything off let me know! Have a wonderful day.
