The fact that she was still alive put Aren at ease. He quietly looked at Jocelyn's sleeping face for a while and finally picked up his phone. After sending a message to tell Luke to not come back so soon, he turned his phone into a vibration mode and placed it aside. He then crawled to the other side of the bed.

Strangely, lying in bed with a woman he kind of liked, the first thought that came to Aren's mind was not to possess her, but to protect her.
