"Are you fucking out of your mind?" Vince snarled, his eyes darkening in rage. "You let them steal your power?"

"What did you want me to do?" I growl, feeling the slightest surge of that power that wasn't only from me. Chagan and Fenrir could push through the seal when my emotions got high. "We didn't have a choice!"

"You agreed to give up your powers with these people?" Vince was in my face, his voice raised. "You honestly think they'd play by the rules? You think they wouldn't kill you the second it was over?"

"Actually," Cabe said, not getting up from the couch. He'd already endured enough from my pack, and even I had to admit he'd done nothing to deserve it. "It's the smartest thing they could've done."

"No one asked you," Vince snarled, and without thinking, I slapped him. Even without my supernatural strength, I still left a dark red mark on his face. My Gamma turned and stared at me as if he didn't recognize me.
