Kapitel 72: Chapter 72

Moving.

I'm...moving.

I have to convince myself that this is real - that this is happening.

But how is it happening?

My lip is raw from biting and tugging on it while I pace my room. There's no way out. There's nothing I can do or say to change my mom's mind. Aunt Milly has sunk her claws in so deep that any possibility of me staying is completely out of the question. Even if I go out there and plead. Even if I beg. Nothing will change her mind.

I figured I'd be crying by now, but I'm too numb. Too numb to let it sink in - let what's happening really sink in. I don't know what to do. I don't know if there's anything I can do. At one point, I stop pacing and stare at the floor. Beneath the numbness, everything hurts. I know I have to face this, but I can't.

I can't because I'm terrified.

Chewing my lip harder, I stare at my dresser.
